Wow, a lot happens in this fic, and most of it is in Frodo's head.

Very interesting exploration of motivations, suspicion, the Ring's influence; raises a lot of questions.

I especially treasured the relationship between Aragorn and Frodo. Hm, Sam was strangely absent, which may demonstrate how important Sam was to Frodo and to the quest.

I'm enjoying pondering the issues of trust of oneself and each other, and the comparison between Frodo trusting Gandalf vs. trusting Aragorn.

Author Reply: Actually, Sam appears at the end (was that missed?),and the brief exchange between him and his master leads to his opinion that he shares with the others at end of FOTR when they are speculating on what decision Frodo will make.

Nice to see this in completed form.

Good use of imagery and good explanation as to what the straps and metal were for. And Aragorn already foresees Frodo's ultimate choice.
