Legacy  by Misty 3 Review(s)
RSReviewed Chapter: 1 on 3/20/2006
Beautifully written and very sad. I am heartbroken for Arwen. "..the decision has been made for her...", "..that would be the legacy of her father and Aragorn's decision". Very poignant words.

Author Reply: Thanks. I think that the only reason she would have agreed to sail in the movie is that she felt she had no other choice. Feeling that way must have left her heartbroken, because while she had no wish to leave her father, she knew she would not be the same if she left Aragorn behind. Somehow, I don't think her father would have been too happy with the results of his decision if she had sailed.

Excellent movie-verse moment. I can see this.

Author Reply: That is what I try to do, envision scenes that might actually happen for the characters. Thanks for the review.

Wow, you get your stories on here fast! I am usually checking to see if one of
my friends has updated a story of hers yet, but I have liked your storys so I just have to read it! This short story was beautifully sad, I love the way you write, choosing certain moments in a characters life and telling it very nicely. Poor Arwen, who can't feel bad the way she is torn between the two most important men in her life, both choices had big pros and cons, but here she feels like she cannot make another choice just because of Aragorns words, You desplayed her feelings well namarie Arwen

Author Reply: Thanks, that's one of the things I love to do as an author, to try to get into someone's mind. Trying to figure out what might have been going through a character's mind at certain points in their life, determining what might have motivated certain actions is the inspiration behind many of my stories. I do feel that movie-Arwen was in an especially hard place after Aragorn told her that she should sail. Her heart told her to stay, but her mind told her to sail, as she would not be welcome to stay with Aragorn. Of course, once she has that vision of Eldarion, nothing would convince her to sail. ;-) Thanks again.
