Shards  by Misty 2 Review(s)

Any time one comes up with the word "precious" in terms of that Ring, it is time to beware. It already ties itself to his awareness.

Alas for what was lost and what more soon will follow it.

Lovely characterizations.

Author Reply: Yes, he should be very wary of that ring. I believe it started to influence him from the moment he took hold of it or he would not have had such a problem with throwing it in the fires. He was grieving and the ring took advantage of that, to the detriment of all the free peoples of Middle Earth. Thanks.

Wow, this was a good story! I do not usually think of Isildur more than to think he was the brave but foolish ancestor of Aragorn. But you made it come alive with some good points on how he must have felt about the ring and the war. Poor guy. Again great writting! Namarie & God bless, Arwen

Author Reply: Thanks, one of the main reasons for writing this was to see if I could find a way to help people sympathize with Isildur; to put themselves in his shoes and think about his reasons for keeping the ring. I don't think he was ever a bad person, he just made one very bad decision.
