Alas for the estrangement, and that this rapport does not last!

I am very glad to see that you have decided to continue this story. It's been a while. Even though we all know what's going to happen--eventually--to Denethor, I can't help but love him. I cried when I read the part about looking at Findulias in the palantir. After so many years you would think the hurt would be less, if you had never lost anyone--but of course it isn't, is it?

Author Reply: I am so sorry, Sarasrati, for the time it took to put this up. As things get closer to the end, I am finding it more and more difficult to write, as my emotions are all over the place. I have come to dearly love this family, the men of the House Hurin. Also, research is paramount and it takes quite some time.

The next part of 3017 is already written and I'll post it in about a week. I'm afraid there will probably be at least 5 chapters for this year. TA 3018 is gonna be a long one too.

And of course, the first months of TA 3019 are packed with things happening!

I'm a widow of fifteen years and I speak constantly with other widows. It never fails to amaze me how incredible the pain remains - just a mention of a memory, or the name of the lost love, brings tears to the eyes! Death sucks!
