Forging of the Ringbearer: Part 1: A New Life  by Frodo Baggins 6 Review(s)
LarnerReviewed Chapter: 1 on 8/31/2006
Sweet lad that he is, and already realizing Bilbo is the one who loves him most as he needs to be loved.

Author Reply: Hannon le! How couldn't he realize that Bilbo loves him so much? I think the old Hobbit would be soft as butter when it came to his nephew (and first and second cousin, according to Gaffer Gamgee). Catching up, are we? I was rather shocked when I had nine reviews all on the same story! But I like it:)
Namarie!

Despite the aura of sadness that hangs over this, I found it very sweet. It's lovely to see how naturally Saradoc and Esme fall into taking care of Frodo, and Bilbo seems very much in character -- genial and loving, he clearly would like to adopt Frodo now, but he's waiting until it's a more appropriate time to do that.

Author Reply: Yes, there is an aura of sadness. But how can a young lad losing his parents not be sad? How can anybody dying not be sad? But worry not, mellon nin, though this story has some rough roads ahead, there are sweet and happy moments as well. Thank you for your encouraging words on how the characters are all in character. I try to stay book cannon, though sometimes I am apt to stray. :)
GOd Bless,
Frodo Baggins

Oh, Frodo, that nearly brought me to tears! I wrote a story about this as well, but not nearly as good as that!
Keep it up, mellon nin!
God bless, Ellie

Author Reply: It is my wish to deeply move my readers. I have always thought good literature reaches deep down into the reader's heart and mind and stirs something. Your review was very encouraging. ANd I'm sure your story is wonderful! You are such a good author. Namarie, mellon nin!

A great addition to the story, my dear! Looking forward to more! Love the title of the series also.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Hannon le! Looking forward to writing more...when I get the chance! I like the title too...I thought that the Ring was forged and so it would be appropriate for the Ringbearer to be forged. Also, the Bible says we are refined like silver, meaning we go through hard times to shape our character. Frodo had a hard life, forging him for the great task he was appointed to do...:) Namarie, mellon nin!
God Bless you,
Frodo Baggins

Oh, this got me crying! Poor little Frodo! I like your portrayal of "Uncle Sara and Aunt Esme," and i always enjoy seeing how different authors handle this traumatic event. Hmmm...glad I've got a while to think about it. Poor little dear, he does need a mother figure. And I can sympathise with the overwhelming "Oh, I am so sorry, darling. If there's anything I can do..." It doesn't help. I can't wait to see more of this!
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: Thank you, Queen Galadriel. But due to an interesting little lapse of brain waves and what not, this wasn't supposed to go here!! Can you imagine?! I am beginining to believe that I am cracked. :) The next chapter is going to jump a lot of years (and I mean alot) to the time when Frodo goes to live at Bag End. Yeah, I know. But I am planning on writing a completely seperate story to cover the time he was orphaned. I forgot how to count to three...First part: Frodo living with Bilbo, second part: Frodo alone at Bag End, Third part: His journal of the Quest. And somehow I thought I had to include the earlier years of his life. Sorry, it's almost like I've written a whole fanfic here. :) Namarie, mellon nin!

Well, now, this is a good way to start off a day. I feel so sorry for poor lil' Frodo, but I'm sure he's had enough of people saying how they knew his parents and such. To lose parents at such a young age can do somethin' to a child, but at least Frodo knows he was three certain 'uncles' and 'aunt' who love him very much.

Author Reply: Hannon le! I am sorry for any confusion, but the next chapter is going to jump alot of years, and then the story will slow way down. Yes, losing parents at such a young age would do something to a child, but especially a child as observant as Frodo. God Bless,
Frodo Baggins
