What a great chapter. I love reading how Amrothos' deals with his sister with this sensitive and uncomfortable subject between a brother and sister. It was sweet and funny. Enjoyed their exchange very much.Thank you for writing.

I truly enjoyed the quality Amrothos moments in this chapter! Relished every innocent word that Lothy said to the discomfort of our intrepid Amrothos. Made me wonder how Elphir would have reacted in the same situation though if he was backed into a corner. :-) The dialogue was priceless, so well written. My favorite was: "If I see a cat watching a bird then I know what the cat wants to do with that bird,” the "carnal gratification" line, his comparison of Eomer to a meat eating plant, and the line: "You can meet on equal terms. You are confused; he is bewildered. Hence, you make the perfect couple.”

Almost fell off my chair about the name of the boa, how fitting! Would have loved to meet Aunt Ivriniel!

“. . . your annoying obstinacy and his well-known temper will be quite an interesting combination. You are not only going to be partners in life, you are going to be sparring partners.”

“Not long ago you said when you find yourself in a certain position, you ask yourself what would Elphir do? And then you do the opposite!"

Very cunning piece of brother management there! For all her straightforwardness - only she would add 'almost' when denying that she had been doing anything - she is very experienced in brothers. That should stand her in good stead with her betrothed.

I don't know if information obtained from Amrothos will be all that useful though - he does have a rather skewed vision of life. And endless curiosity. The thought of him watching with huge amusement as Lothiriel puts the cat among the pigeons is very entertaining - but she would be cutting off her nose to spite her face. (How many more cliches can I add?)

A very enjoyable picnic. I rather like the thought of Amrothos becoming embroiled in his own cleverness sometime ... might make a good post-Lothiriel project!

Author Reply: I think Lothíriel and Amrothos have a lot in common. Both are straightforward and honest, Amrothos is just much more experienced and cynical. And in the back of my mind there is already an "Amrothos project" taking shape.

Well, here came the Amrothos everyone loved and feared.

This was hilarious. I love how dry you are about Amrothos. I'm not sure Lothiriel got much useful information here, but at least she got a chance to talk out her thoughts. Amrothos, on the other hand, realizes that a show is about to begin. Bad Amrothos!

Author Reply: Would you believe if I told you that Amrothos has taken on a life of his own and that there is absolutely nothing I can do against it?
