The lack of acceptance from before contrasted with the acceptance of Eowyn at least now gives him reason to live.

This is wonderful! I love poems with rhyme and structure best of all, and this is so well done. Too often there is a lack or jangling if the scansion is not quite right--but you get it just so, and at no sacrifice of imagery.

I especially loved these two verses, where the last two words of one find repetition as the first two of the next:

Could I find in books salvation?
Do not believe all wisdom's arms;
I lift my sword up for my nation,
But learning deflects deeper harms.

Deeper harms with wounds that linger.
If hearts are strong, bodies will heal.
You and I, we know they mingle,
We know despair's sword, sharp and real.

Beautiful!
