The Lucky One  by Antane 5 Review(s)
H.G.Reviewed Chapter: 8 on 12/4/2015
A year ago, if someone had told me, "you are going to get an editor in Chicago, who will then proceed to break your heart because of a mug," I would have ran in the opposite direction and shipped that person to the nearest insane support group. Yet here I am, with a broken heart because of a mug and all the things it represents.

I love the symbology of the repaired mug, broken cleanly enough to be repaired and used again, helping Frodo accept he, too, may be healed again.

Oh, wow! What a beautiful, powerful chapter, Antane! I love the way you use the symbolism of the teacup, and that scene between Frodo and Sam is so touching. It's heart-breaking that Frodo would see himself as being like the broken mug. I'm so glad the chapter ended on a hopeful note! And the song is beautiful and so full of promise! Very appropriate. Can't wait for more, just as always, and this was very uplifting after a rather dull and difficult day. :-) God bless,
Galadriel

Sorry for not reviewing in a while, but I've been sort of busy. Just read through what I missed and loved all of them.
As for this one, I love it too. It's kind of sad that Frodo compares himself to that broken mug, but Sam fixed it up, so there might be hope for Frodo yet. :D

Author Reply: Welcome back! :) Glad you love this story so much! While there's life, there's hope and while there's breath in Sam, there's hope...

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
