When Day Comes Down  by joannawrites 3 Review(s)

Loved this. The hope and calm reassurance Arwen gives Aragorn/Estel. And how he, the future King, a fierce and valiant warrior received it in his sorrow, like a child. I like that contrast. And that makes him so human. I like the love you showed in this chapter, and how Arwen says it is not weakness but strength. What Aragorn even told Éowyn in the previous chapter, that the empathy she feels, and the sorrow, the love for her people, is strength. In the end that was the strength of the fellowship and how they prevailed and succeeded, it was through friendship and love that they won against hate and destruction.

This was such a great read. I could feel the grief, the tragedy. I loved Aragorn's POV, and how humbly he thinks of himself. The respect he brings to Éowyn. I loved to see young, unexperienced but courageous and strong Éowyn who brings hope and care to her people, who suffers for them and with them. I loved the small glimpse we get of Legolas carrying the child in his arms, and Gimli worried over him. Makes me looking forward to the next story of this trilogy, about Legolas.
You wrote this so long ago, and I saw that there are no answers from you to the later reviews, so probably this will never reach you, but I will write it all the same. I found your stories because a longtime reader, demeter d, recommended your stories in her review and I'm glad for it.

Lovely, heartbreaking, yet also heartwarming story. Loved the interaction with Aragorn and Arwen.
