Lost Soul  by FirstMate 5 Review(s)

Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas present. I love it!!!

Poor Elladan. If I didn't already know what happens next, this story would be unbearably sad. However, I'm glad Elladan was able to take word to "Walter's" family. They must be just as distraught as he is.

Also, thank goodness for Isilme. Sounds like he is a good horse. It's good that Elladan has him along for the journey.

Elladan's emotional fall-out in this story reminds me of the scene in "Lost" right after he is reunited with Elrohir, when he has to climb up in the tree to compose himself. It's sad to see him so close to total emotional collapse. However, I know that things turn out okay in the end.

"Lost" is probably my favorite fanfiction story ever, and this is a wonderful addition. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well.

Thank you for this lovely, unexpected gift!

Poor, poor Elladan - his depair and hopelessness is palpable. He misses Elrohir so much, and fears he will never see him again. The part where he thinks he has finally found him - only to hear that the elf died a month before - is heart-rending, even though I know it wasn't Elrohir!

I'm glad that you ended this on a note of hope, with the message that finally leads Elladan to Estel and his twin.

Merry Christmas,

Jay

What a wonderful Christmas surprise! I hadn’t expected anything from you so soon again! Thank you so *very* much!

Poor Elladan! That was a very realistic view at his long and lonely search for his twin, his desperation, the wide range of emotions between hope and devastation every time a track proved useless, his grim mood and all that. It would be very sad if I didn’t know he is on his way to *both* his brothers! So it is a great comfort to know he has not to suffer much longer. I wonder how much more of these disappointments he could have endured without breaking himself.

The story of „Walther“ was sad, too, but at least Elladan is now able to send word to his family in Mirkwood. To know him dead is much less hard than to have him missing and never know where he is, I think. And he was with friends in the end. (Oh, and I can completely understand that Norbert couldn’t pronounce his true name!)

Again, thank you and have a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Poor Elladan. I think it's just as well that Estel found Elrohir when he did. Elladan seems in a bad way. Not the fury that followed his mother's wounding, but possibly something even worse! He has almost completely lost himself - he's becoming quite ... I'd say inhuman if he weren't an elf.

And poor Walter - and Norbert, come to that, who has come to know and love an elf and then lose him. It will be excruciating for Telemandius Winthrosion's parents and sister to know what has happened to him, but at least they will know.

I suppose it's good that Elladan stills knows that his brother is alive. But it certainly doesn't make the business of searching for him any easier.
