A Knife in the Dark  by TheHobbitWaffle 3 Review(s)
GamgeeFestReviewed Chapter: 2 on 12/27/2005
Oooh! The plot is thickening. Now there's a storm, and it's one of those uncomfortable tropical ones. I can just picture Pippin having a puppy named Mop. How cute! Wonder if they're in the same place that Frodo and Bilbo found the knife. Sam telling Frodo a story to keep him occupied was so perfectly Sam. Wonderful job with this chapter. I look forward to more.

Author Reply: They aren't in the same place, but that isn't important ^^

I adore puppies with hobbits, which has nothing to do with my own little Mop running around the kitchen right now, barking at the broom. Nothing at all.

Uncomfortable storms can be caused by uncomfortable things! Bwah hah.

Thank you for reviewing, you've made my night.

Well, compared to the Gaffer's grammar Sam's is excellent ;-)
I just love it when old Hamfast speaks this way, it's really authetic!

As far as I can see, the only element that connects the two stories by now, is the thunderstorm. It is the same thunderstorm, isn't it?
I'm curious to see what will come next!

BTW: Your little Sammie is great :)

Author Reply: Thank you! I love Sam, It's so much fun to imagine him as a wee one.

I was hoping my Gaffer's grasp on English wouldn't seem silly. Sam's been taking lessons with the gentry, whereas Hamfast would rather have him in a garden. Their differences come out in their language. At least that's my story ^^

It is the same storm, yes. Perhaps the storm is slightly supernatural, eh?

I'm horrible when it comes to review responses. Thank you so much for reviewing!

I'm so curious to see where you're going with this, and how the two stories will converge! Awwww, your Sam is so cute and well mannered. What a sweet lad.

Author Reply: Thank you! I'm now worried the ending is not going to make sense. The stories converge. Very much related. Or something like that.

I love little Sam, so I just had to put him in somewhere. What's a story about hobbits when you don't have all of the main four? Well, probably a good story, depending on whether or not the author can write, but then it's arguable they aren't an author!

Whew, I just made my head spin. Thanks for the review! I'm much enjoying "Whispers of a Dragon", I'm just much too lazy to know what to say in response.
