Merry's Graduation  by PIppinfan1988 6 Review(s)
Anso the HobbitReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/7/2005
Yay! Another story that I finally manage to sit down and read. :D I am guessing that the tutor has certain plans with our Merry, lol. He would be a great teacher to keep Pip in place and encourage Degger. Off to read more.

Author Reply: In the beginning, the tutor had no plans other than to get through this course of study with her wits still intact. Now...well, there will be more in chapter 7.

I'm so glad to see you, Anso! I see you've got a lovely story posted on LJ--I'll be making my way over there to read it a little later. :-)

Interesting logic here. And feel sorry for Degger.

So, Pip is up to his old tricks with the homework again. I loved his logic about not taking work home with him but it doesn't seem to have gotten him anywhere except up to his eyes in homework. LOL I also feel sorry for Degger and I hope that either the teacher or Merry will be able to help him somehow. It looks as if they both mean to try. I had to laugh at Pervinca naming her plant after herself! That was so in character and so funny! This is such a welcome surprise for me. I am loving every word of it!

Author Reply: LOL, and into the corner when he tried to lessen the sentence he had to write a hundred times. I couldn't help myself with Pervinca...her appearances are cameos, but they're good ones, nonetheless. Thanks for reading!

Garnet TookReviewed Chapter: 1 on 11/13/2005
I love Pippin's reasoning about homework. I don't think I'll pass it on to my daughter since she already has a tendancy to feel the same way.

Poor Degger. He works so hard but still has so far to go.

Thanks for a great beginning.

Garnet Took.

Author Reply: LOL, maybe I should have rated this as a PG-13! But I think most folks reading this are a bit older than I was at the time--or Pippin is in this story--and they know better. I hope.

Yes, its true, poor Degger having to work double in order to keep up.

Thank *you* for stopping by to read!

Pearl TookReviewed Chapter: 1 on 11/13/2005
Oy! My secret is out :O LOL I still maintain that it is sound reasoning. I thought that sounded way too familiar - but why not, I am a Took ;)

Well done :)

Author Reply: So do I! LOL, I thought it was too uncanny that we thought the same thing as kids! You're right--that is definietly Tookish thinking, and we know you're all Took!

This is so promising! I did like Degger very much, so I'm looking forward to seeing how his problem gets solved.

I love the banter between Pippin, Pervinca and Merry in the garden.

And Pippin's "sass" for the teacher,LOL! I love the resigned way he headed for the corner. She's quite right, he's bored. And a bored Took is a dangerous Took. She'd better think up something before he does.

Author Reply: Thank you! I do have a penchant for writing dialogue, lol, can you tell? They're just kids being kids...hobbit style.

Glad you like Pippin's sauce! Pippin's reasoning for doing homework came from a conversation that Pearl Took and I had a while back--it tickled me to no end to discover we thought the same thing on that subject. However, she had the IQ to get away with it. :-P Oh, you are *so* right about a bored Took--lol, you ought to know!

Thank you for your wonderful encouragement!
