The Green Knight and the Heir of Meduseld  by Le Rouret 4 Review(s)

Ouch. That was a bit cruel towards Andunie - but I suppose Legolas doesn't want to be on the receiving end of her unrequited regard. Although attempting to manage her affairs seems more than a little heartless.

Still - at least the battle seems to be going well. Now they've just got to get Théalof.

Oh, now this was a treat that I badly needed
this most horrible of weeks! Must tell you
how much I love your characterization of Legolas
in this and indeed the individual personalities
of all the elves, who also remain elves, distinct
from the ways of men. Just wonderful!

Welcome to Hammer! Thank you also for including
all of the horses, with their appearances and
tempers of their own. Somehow I think Hammer is
going to be a force of his own to be reckoned with,
even though he has only just met his rider. Rah
for fierce black horses! (Had one of those, love
of my life he was.)

And how very much I loved the line about Legolas
putting his foot down and something irrevocably squashed.
For some reason this amuses me even as it illustrates
the power that lurks behind Legolas' usually genial
interaction with folks. To quote another fun Immortal
"just because I don't fight doesn't mean I can't."
SOmehow, in spite of the pain of the moment (and couldn't
he have found a better moment to step on Andunie that just
before battle?) I suspect this will have a happy ending.
In fact, Happy Endings all around! (except maybe Thealof,
who looks to be having a most horrible week of his own).

I look forward to more of this wonderful story, whenever it
should show up in my mailbox. But thank you for this chapter.
It really has been a most horrible week, and I really needed
this smile :)

What a battle! You really have a knack for describing a battle that allows the reader to follow the action without becoming confused, while still conveying the chaos and confusion the characters are experiencing.

I loved the banter, as always, with Gimli and Bandy, and the little subplot of Andunie and Himbalath is cute. Legolas the matchmaker. He'll be getting a reputation for that as well as for midwifery! LOL!

I can't say I was surprised at Thealof's treachery. But it's a shame that Eomer did not get his own chance at Breawine.

Excellent and exciting chapter!

Good luck with nanowrimo!
