The Green Knight and the Heir of Meduseld  by Le Rouret 2 Review(s)
LynReviewed Chapter: 15 on 4/1/2006
Such a wonderful story! Excellent in all respects!

Just a couple of comments:

...to abduct mine heir - should be "my heir".
"Mine" is the absolute form of "my" and never
should be followed by a noun.

Feldspar! One of my favorite minerals. The sodium silicate form can sometimes be
found in a pale translucent blue form, suitable for jewelry. (Albite).
In this form, it is often called "moonstone".
Feldspar is the pink or white mineral in granite.

Absolutely adore your portrayal of Legolas.

Author Reply: You're right about the modern usage of the word "mine;" however in keeping with the archaism of my ficI have chosen to use more old-fashioned grammatical standards. "Mine" and "thine" were used as "a" and "an" in regards to the noun they preceded; e.g., "mine opinion" and "thine apple." You can visit http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarbysprint02/STT/Much%20Ado/primer.html if you like; it's a fun site for anyone who likes Shakespeare, as I do!

My daughter recently had to do a research project on rocks for her science class, so we learned more than we wanted to about shale, feldspar, pyrite, and schist. I'm glad at least one of my readers knew what feldspar was! I didn't, until last semester. And I didn't know, until you told me, that feldspar was moonstone ... and here I have had a moonstone pendant for all these years, and never knew! Thanks for the info! And I'm glad you like the story. I'll try to be better about updating now, I promise!

Oh my! The intrigue is really ramping up! Ghosts?!?!?!?

So--will we stay in Meduseld with Fastred, Meival, Gimli and Bandy? Or shall we race across Rohan with Legolas and his company? I don't know which to choose!

And, by the way--I adored Bandy's little lecture on geldings. That was hilarious!

Author Reply: Don't know which to choose, eh? Well, how about I pull a JRR and do ... BOTH!
