| Legolass, This story is amazing. All of us fans appreciate all the hard work you put into it. I was literally gripping the edge of my seat! I hope to see more of your work in future other than what I have already read. I'm working on a story about how Legolas and Aragorn meet. Is there a way I could send a chapter or two to you and you can tell me what you think? I'm not sure I have as much 'knowledge' of Middle Earth as you seem to have. Just let me know! Great story! | Dear Legolass, we are having a very successful campaign here in Aswan. Although two weeks ago, it was cold enough to drink hot mulled wine on the terrace over the Nile at night, the weather is now beautiful and very warm. So far, we have been able to excavate two very large buildings, one soldiers barracks and the headquarters building, complete with strong room and sacellum. There was also a large pit with a depot of several complete ceramic vessels for storage, which was exiting to uncover. We have also been visiting the Western Desert Oasis, where some Roman forts still stand to a height of about 15 metres or so. We went by four-wheel-drive, but we still got stuck in a sand dune and had to dig ourselves out again. ;-) Now the campaign is almost over and I will soon be back home again. It is incredible how time is flying by here! I am looking forward to meet you and our favorite Elf and Ranger soon in Arda again. Sounds like you've had a very exciting and fruitful dig - I wonder if it ever feels eerie when you dig up something that old... Anyway, you must let me know if any of your discoveries are shown in some documentary on the Nat Geographic or Discovery Channel. Make sure you got your mug shot in there too, of course. I'll watch out for that bushy tail! So you'll be home again soon, and I'm happy for you. Now, if I didn't know you better, I'd say that this message from you doubled as a subtle way of asking for a new story, lol! But maybe not, which would be good, because I'm still struggling for time to write up the ideas whirling around in my mind, sigh... But story or no story, I do hope I get to hear from you again. Tari Author Reply: Author Reply: Tari, this is a long overdue reply. Thank you so much for all the reviews you left. I appreciate that you wrote them even though the tale had already been finished. Most of all, I'm really glad you enjoyed this tale that I loved writing so much. It's worth it when there are wonderful readers like you who love the characters as I do. I don't know that I can change names and publish the story, as so much of it is really based on Tolkien's earlier works. Perhaps when I retire from my full-time job now, I will take your suggestion into consideration and actually publish a story for money. :-) Thanks for all your encouraging words. | While I am glad that they showed mercy to the villagers, I did get a kick out of Gimli and freinds singing act. Glad that Aragorn has Legolas, as someone who he can talk to, and help him. loved your story, and hope to see more. Sorry this review took so long, I needed a holiday to catch up on things. | Did that blank one go through? I don't know what I was thinking {Shakes head sadly} Anyway on with the review! What a wonderful ending to the story I really loved it. You write so beautifully and express your idea's so well- I know how hard that is to do. I very much enjoy reading your stories and look forward to each chapter. I love your idea about the Glass pool for our hero's. You really get the closeness of their friendship down very well and yet express the love for the others in their lives as well. My favorite part in this chapter has to be when they arrived at the Glass pool and Aragorn said: "For those dark, dark hours, my friend – who knows how many? – you were all I held on to, all that I believed in - indeed, all that I knew,” Aragorn said. “I escaped a fate worse than death only because you were there, and you knocked at the door of my soul till I answered, even as you promised you would. Ever shall that door be unlocked for you, Legolas.” What a heart melter and my favorite line in the chapter. Well I didn't notice anything this time, perhaps I wasn't looking hard enough? | Thank you merci beaucoup danke schoen schukran for this final (*sigh*) beautiful and after all the heartache much needed chapter. And above all, many thanks for the (totally undeserved, but much appreciated) dedication! I love Hamille's bonding, he so totally deserves that kind of happiness. *ow!* Legolas' embarrassment at the question of his own wedding was that hilarious, LOL!! The entire female population of the Greenwood and half the maidens in Gondor, ha! He's really rather innocently blind (blindly innocent?) in some respects. *ouch!* Fierthwain's final fate appeals a lot to some of my lower instincts, I must admit. Somehow I'd never pictured him going to execution, but Gimli's revenge is so, so sweet - let me join in that particular tune about war and victory :-)! Putting him to some useful labour in Ithilien seems a very good idea, although I'm not sure that will cure him of his stupidity. Perhaps Gimli's songs will hammer some sense into him, LOL! *ow!* (That's the Hamille fan-club, throwing acorns at me. I'm not QUITE sure if they want to feed me or chase me up a tree...) :-D With "Shadow Realm" you have created an exceptionally beautiful part of Arda again. I really don't know which I like better, "White Tree" or "Shadow Realm", they are quite different and brilliant and I enjoyed them both immensely, I really can't say, but I do so love your style of writing. Nononononono I won't say it will you no I won't! I won't ask ifyou'regoingtowriteanotherstorysoon - there now I did it anyway, but never mind! | THis has been a great story and I am sorry it is over.I liked the way you showed it took Aragorn a long time to recover, which was very realistic. I love your Aragorn and you make Legolas far more interesting than I usually find him. I'm also pleased you have included Arwen, Faramir and Eldarion. Aragorn's lesson is one we could all too well to heed. Thank you for a most enjoyable story. | wonderful ending Legolass and yet I didn't want to review. I think I'm reverting back to a 3 year old covering my eyes thinking if I can't see the monsters, they won't see me. Maybe if I don't review, the story won't end. I guess I'm feeling melancholy. Happy to see Hamille married but feeling like I'm losing a friend and as always moved by the depth of feelings you give our favorite heroes. Ah maybe that's what great writers do, make you feel things through their stories.
