In Shadow Realm  by Legolass 11 Review(s)

Sorry for the delay in reviewing.
Thanks for another gripping chapter. I love the little girl.
YOu have me increasingly worried about Aragorn.

Wishing you a happy and peaceful Christmas season and joyful new year.

Author Reply:
Hi, Linda - we should all have such delightful little children around us. But I'd be quite happy with a Ranger and elf, thank you. :-)

I hope to post the next chapter soon (before Christmas), at the end of which we may have more than Aragorn to worry about - not a pleasant thought, seeing that the story is close to its conclusion.

See you then, Linda, and thank you for reviewing this one.

Yeah for the hobbits, a little girl and Lord Celeborn. I did like his face off with Fierthwain. Now Gimli has his elf back, and Legolas is back with Aragorn. Aragorn needs is wake up from his nap, before he gets sleep lines all over his face. Christmas cookies for you and Estel, if Lord Celeborn can get him back from the dark.

Author Reply:
Sleep lines on Aragorn's face?!! Lol - you think of the most ridiculously funny things when the man is literally on his (near)death bed! :-D Well, we'll have to see if Estel and I can get those cookies by Christmas. Maybe not if (1) I cannot update by then (2) Celeborn fails.

But thank you for the thought - and the review. :-)

And I am sorry that it has taken me a whole week to find the time to enjoy this chapter properly so I am fully in sympathy with you about the needs of RL. I am so glad that they have been rescued and that Legolas is reaching Aragorn even if in so limited a way.

Out of the mouth of a babe and a child....comes the truth and rescue!!!

Author Reply:

You know, harrowcat, I actually toyed with the idea of naming the chapter "Out of the mouth of babes" - just as you expressed it :-) , but I settled for something that would cover two or three other events in the chapter as well.

I understand about RL very well, so I'm glad you found time to 'visit' - I just love to hear from readers. Thank you and see you next update.

Greeetings again Legolass,

I LOVE this chapter! I must say that you never cease to impress me! I apologize that it has taken quite a while from my last review.
It is really touching how Legolas immediately goes to Aragorn despite his ordeal. Also, really beautiful how he is close to Aragorn and Gimli, true friends to the core.
It was really intersting how they managed the truth from the captors. I wouldn't like to be in their places at the moment.

Can't wait for more!
Nayru

Hi Nayru,

Yes I've missed you, so welcome back, and I'm glad you like the chapter. :-)

I'm sure none of us want to be Fierthwain's place right now - to have to face Gimli AND Celeborn *shudder* -- I actually meant to ask readers for a wish list of what they would like to see happen to those goons - forgot to post the notice till today, duh! Would be interesting to hear ideas, lol!

Thank you for 'visiting' again and see you next update,

"There would be time enough later for Lord Celeborn and Gimli to visit their fury upon Fierthwain." Yes, oh yes - and let him stew a little, first (rubbing hands in satisfaction). The extent of his stupidity might begin to dawn on him now, although he does not even know how lucky he is that King Thranduil is not around, too. On the other hand, the heartfelt thanks of a real prince will be very welcome in a different quarter, I think. What a sweet, bright child she is. Her rebuke of Gimli was that hilarious :-D But Gimli also had his moments - and there is quite a sensitive soul hiding somewhere under his gruff beard. And there is a great glimmer of hope at the end. Although you somehow always just missed to tell us (quite unintentional, I'm inclined to believe ;-) ) what exactly might be done to release Aragorn from that spell. Anyway, it's well worth waiting for any length of time!
Hugs and thanks,
your rodent

How wonderful that you are feeling (and enjoying) all the different emotions I wished to evoke in this chapter! Thanks for letting me know you do.

"...although you somehow always just missed to tell us (quite unintentional, I'm inclined to believe ;-) ) what exactly might be done to release Aragorn from that spell..." --- oh yes, it's QUITE UNintentional, to be sure. :-D

Next chapter.... I believe your name will crop up somewhere. ;-)

See you then, my furry friend!

Hi, Legolass.I particularly liked the chapter title, especially as it can be taken so many ways. The obvious one is the predicament Legolas & Elrohir find themselves in but, right at the end, you focused on the tie that really defines this story. The fierce love that Legolas & Aragorn have for each other could be seen as a weakness by some, but the bond between them will save both their souls in the end.

You may take as much time away as you need, Legolass, if return with a chapter this good! I really wanted the village baddies to have their comeuppance, but I also want Aragorn to be the one who deals out their punishment.I don't think Aragorn will be too happy when he finds out the torment both Legolas & Elrohir suffered while he lay in the shadow.

If you don't update before the end of the year then I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy 2007.Take care.

Ali.

Hello, Ali,

So glad you like the title - some titles come to mind easily, but I had to think a bit before I settled on this one, and you interpreted it EXACTLY right in both instances! :-) It makes me feel good to know a sensitive reader 'gets' it - thank you for telling me!

Have a great holiday/celebration yourself - see you next update.

Mae Govannen Legolass,
Well done as usual. One thing I love about the hobbits, they follow their instincts. Tell Merry I'll have to make him some thing special. Very touching moment between Legolas and Aragorn at the end. I remember reading some where that many doctors believe that visitors should talk with comatose patients, that subconciously they can hear them. I think Aragorn is trying to find his way back to his friend.
If I don't chat with you before hand, have a joyous holiday season. My grandmother used to tell me when there is too much on my plate, it's time to push away from the table and take a breather. So my holiday wish for you is some down time for yourself in middle earth.

Peace and Joy

Eliza

Mae govannen, mellon nin!

Legolas never read a medical guidebook, but he certainly knows his unconscious friend needs him - he would agree with those doctors who treat comatose patients. :-)

Have a great holiday/celebration yourself, my friend, and say hi to Mel for me. One day I must write a story about some kind of festival Aragorn and Legolas observe. :-)

Thank you for your review and wishes - see you next update,

Hello, I will now calmly write you another review as my first one got rejected by a certain other site which I give up on! I will let you guess which one.Anyway I was thinking that maybe we ought to take Fierthain and his buddies and leave tham for a nice campout in The Pathes of the Dead for a night or two or maybe three and see how they come out of that! Then I would like to hurt them badly but I think when Aragorn wakes up he will take care of them. Also Jacob my grandson says Hi or should I say Goo! Goo! He looks just like what a baby Estel would look like. I wish I could send you a picture! And dont worry Ill be waiting around for the finish of this story and so will everybody else, its to good to miss!

Author Reply:

How wonderful of you to try and try till you could submit a review, Elflingimp - thank you! ANd you're not the first one to wish some pain on Fierthwain and his gang, lol!

Oooh I would love to see what Jacob-little-Estel looks like. :-) Maybe I'll get to see that picture one day. Say hi to him for me and tell him to keep his grandma patient till the next chapter ok?

Thank Eru...*slumps down in front of the computer and sigh in relief*...they're okay.
I don't mind too much the delays--as long as it's continued until completion. Great story from the beginning, still a great story hereafter.

Author Reply:
And I'm glad I could give you that relief, Calenlass!
Now take a breather from the tension.... till the next chapter. :-)

Oh what a pleasant surprise to get the notification of the new chapter! And I am so glad they were found! GO Celeborn!!!

I am really enjoying the bond between Legolas and Aragorn and can't wait to read how Aragorn conveys how this helped hom in the realm.

Author Reply:
Yes, I wouldn't like to be the one Celeborn is angry at right now. *shudder*

Whatever happens with Aragorn, I'm sure he'll be glad he had that bond with Legolas that you enjoy. :-)

Thanks for the review and see you next chapter.
