"It was the comfortable silence of old and dear friends, and there is no thing anywhere like it, for in saying nothing at all, everything was said."

They would have that, that comfortable silence. It is a rare and wonderful thing.

Well done, m'dear Pipkin!

Yes, the greeting was most appropriate, and must have flabbergasted Theo and Faro. Lovely greeting. Still waiting to see how Boromir became a bee charmer!

first off the chapters do not seem to be in order when you click them.. but that I am sure can be easily fixed...

I like this.. I like the fact that Boromir could still be alive.. I find that some of the best stories are enough Tolkien to be believable.. and enough AU to be pleasurable.. and you seem to be doing it.. you have the hobbits just so.. just as if Tolkien were writing them.. and having Boromir is interesting and fun.. having only read up to chapter 3 I would say you have a wonderful start.. and I wonder if there was not some kind of Vala intervention.. but at any rate you have my interest.. keep up the good work.. you are doing great..though I have only one thing that was bothersome.. and it was the names of some of the characters.. the names were not as hobbity as I would expect......(smile) but that is a writers preference..

Author Reply: I'm just learning the ropes here at SoA and didn't know I could reply to reviews, so please forgive my tardiness in that regard.

Thank you so much for your kindness! The story came to me as who;e cloth, and I believe strongly in what the message of the story conveys.

"I wonder if there was not some kind of Vala intervention.."

Always!

Theomac and Faramir aren't very hobbit-y names, but then their fathers were not your average hobbit. The name "Galapas" is a nod to Arthurian legend a la MAry Stewart. Galapas was a wise man who tutored Merlin. In my story Galapas is the mouthpeice for the conscience and Boromir's spiritual counsilor.

Again, I thank you for your review and hope you enjoy the story.

warmest regards,

Pipkin Sweetgrass
