This was very sad. I liked it. I can see Thranduil struggling with all these thoughts after Oropher's death. Well done.

Author Reply: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I figured it can't have been easy for him!

Heehee, I'd literally *just* logged in to answer reviews when yours arrived! Good timing!

Thranduil seems rather young and innocent in this piece, but also brave and good-hearted. I especially like the line about it seeming that everyone leaned on him and at times it was almost more than he could bear. The ending was lovely. Thanks for sharing. ~TF

It can't be proved of course, but I think he probably was quite young at that time. Also, such a loss would probably make him feel younger still.

Glad you liked it!

This is lovely. Thranduil is impressive.

Actually, I'd love it if you made this into a story, with all the events shown in scenes rather than just told in Thranduil's memory. I'm drooling at the thought of it!

Hmmm interesting idea! I have a lot of writing to do at the moment, but I'll let the bunny bounce for a bit and see if anything comes of it! It does sound like fun!

This is so short, yet so filled with intense, conflicting emotions. There is grief and rage and resignation, and at the end, hope. You can just feel the wounded, orphaned child having not only to grow up much faster than he'd like, but to take responsibility for a nation as well. Thranduil comes off as very brave and noble here.

I was going to make it longer, but it disagreed! ;)

I'm glad you liked it, I really wanted to show the confusion and pain he had to have been feeling!
