Oh, I knew that going into Moria was a bad idea. Now look they are seperated, and at least one is lost. Aragorn seems to have been on the receiving end of a blunt object. Glad that Daevan is not giving up, but has set off to find Strider.

Author Reply: 'The receiving end of a blunt object.' grumpy, that was marvelous! Laughed so hard over here! Yeah, Moria was supposed to be a good idea for Gollum, but a bad idea for everybody else. And Daevan would be a bad companion if he'd give up now, right?

Four stout figures? Could they be.....dwarves? Poor Aragorn, how many head wounds can he endure? This is truly Daevan's test. The feeling of separation, especially in this dark world he has found himself in. "His friend and teacher"--wonderful words.

Author Reply: Hi, RS, congrats!! You made the 100th review on this story *fanfares in the background; loud cheers and confetti* !
And *author clears throat after the audience settles down again* if head wounds worry you, you should definitely think about continuing this story. It... might... just might get a little bit... worse.

Poor Strider! This tale is full of surprises as I believed all was lost for him at one point.
Young Daervan's loyalty is truly touching.

Author Reply: Thank you, Linda. I find it most touching to find your reviews here though you had a first hand look at the story. Glad you liked it!

Aha! So it appears some of Balin's folk are here at the moment, at least. Now, clubbing Aragorn was probably NOT the most politic thing they could have done, if they'd had the least idea who on earth he was.

Nice cliff-hanger.

Author Reply: Dwarves... political correct? Huh? 'We are Dwarves!' any such kinsman would answer you.

I wondered what would happen since Aragorn wasn't eager to enter Moria again. That won't be all, will it? How will Daevan find him again? Or will the dwarves find him first? (Well, if you don't surprise me (us) and the stout figures aren't dwarves.) I know, I know, wait and read.

Author Reply: Hi Hanci,
glad to have you here. No, Aragorn was not so eager to enter Moria, knowing about the possible dangers and that finding Gollum in there reminds him of the needle in a haystack. But he would not be Aragorn if he just had called it quits. *g*

Hi! I was so glad to see such a quick update! That was really nice! :o) Thanks very much!

Wow. I was so used to the slower pace of the story that these chapters caught me a bit off-guard! But I enjoyed seeing some action again!

Certainly neither of them is in the best shape for this little extra adventure... I hope Daevan can hold on, and find Strider!
"Through his admiration for Thorongil, he felt the sting of hurt pride: he had been shoved out of harm's way. Strider had found him too inept to fight on and stand beside him to the end."
It seems Aragorn found another man who would die for him! :o)
Btw, hasn't it occured to Daevan that Strider merely wanted him to live because this wasn't really his buisness to die for, and that the whole thing didn't happen because Strider 'found him too inept to fight'...

Now you have me wondering about those four stout figures...Of course, my first reaction was that they are dwarves. (And I still believe that) But why would the dwarves knock Aragorn out??

I hope you won't let us wait a long time again, because this can be considered a cliff-hanger!

Author Reply: Wasn't it about time to speed up the story? I did not wish to lure my readers into sleep, no! *g*
Ah, well, Daevan's not the aptest fighter and truly not so self-confident that he wound understand Aragorn's reasons, would he? After all, he decided to go with Strider and would have gone with him further through the mountains. Well, some foes were against this... Just wait and see, who hid behind the wall.
