Untrodden Path  by Timmy2222 5 Review(s)

Glad you liked that last review. I *tried* to make it entertaining. Love the way you merge the smaller stories with the bigger one. Your OCs are so splendidly done even down to the little detail that Nilana had left Strider alone to rest. What a wonderfully caring person she is. Action scenes were intense and realistic and the writing as a whole (as with ALL your stories) tightly knit and exciting. I got the notice for the next chapter of 'Twilight of the Gods' and yes, what a bittersweet reading that is going to be. Almost done? I'll try not to cry too much. Wish I was feeling more witty tonight but I'm afraid you'll have to settle for this 'blah' review. (Although, I must confess, when I get a story alert from you I feel kind of like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh -- all excitable and bouncy)! As always, I'm So looking forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: No, please, no crying at the end of a story. Twilight *really* is more a novel than a story and it *has* to end.
But for this one: the little details just slip in. First draft is mostly rough, and then within the polishing the picture becomes more detailed (getting its 'movie shape'). Some things, though, remain predictable (at least a little bit ).
I like the image of Tigger. Love him and Calvin. I just started telling my kids about them.

This story is SOOO great! I love how the plot develops!

Your OCs are are brilliant, too! I especially like young Deavan. He needs to get out of that village! I wonder whether he still will want to leave the village and everybody behind, after the attack will be over.... I only hope his grandfather will survive... He's so cute! (the grandfather *g*)

I love it how you call Strider the "son of Thorongil"! It kind of gives him a misterious air.

Author Reply: Hi Despo,

welcome to the story and thanks for your friendly words. I do appreciate that you like the OC. Hope to entertain you further!

Excellent chapter!!! Frightening!!! The naivete and ignorance of this small little village was completely wiped away once the orcs arrived. One will do anything to survive...and survive they did!! Wonderful chapter!!

Author Reply: Hi RS,

yes, I agree that even those poor fellows, who never held a weapon before, will stand to survive.

Wonder of all wonders, the villagers seem to be doing well at the fighting. Bet that surprised the orcs. Loved the little lesson that Daevan got in swordfighting, two seconds before he had to go and use it for real. looking forward to more.

Author Reply: Hi grumpy,

worked on that part in three different ways, so I'm glad the outcome is satisfactory .
