Oh heavens, I have slipped and a bunch of chapters have gotten by me! Sorry! My earlier suspicion stands and the more I read the more charmed I am by that character. I think your Aragorn is a wonderful grandfather. ~TF

Oh, I love Aragorn as a grandfather, which was why I put Arien and Valandil as his two living grandchildren into Light on the Way. A wonderful image, I thought, being allowed to know at least two of his grandchildren.

Oh good - thank you for letting me know. :-) I loved the scene in the ROTK movie where he picked up Eldarion and I thought he would make a wonderful grandfather as well. BTW you have lovely names for his grandkids.

I like this elfling more with each chapter! He is so enthusiastic and endearing. *huggles elfling* And I loved it that he decided not to be grown up yet in the end. *g* Just sweet!

"Swordhelm and Strongbow" - I didn't realize that Beleg and Turin had so much in common with Legolas and Aragorn! *wonders when she read the Silmarillion for the last time* I still refuse to re-read it though - I need my tissues for your stories. Hehe.

“They see strengths in the other person that others may not see, or choose to ignore.” I loved that sentence! But there's another thing that stands out to me: friends also seem to freely share their greatest strengths with each other, like Legolas his talent with the bow and Aragorn his talent with the sword. And I liked Legolas' and Beleg's patience in teaching - a talent that has become rare and or even lost, but should be natural between friends. *smiles*

I liked to see Aragorn as a grandfather, I somehow never realized that Eldarion - of course - would have children, too. (Too preoccupied with Aragorn and Legolas, I guess ;-)) Which reminds me that there is one more thing I love about elves and Dunedain: they defy the negative way old age is commonly viewed by our society. It just means changes, not deterioration. And I'll shut up now, as I have the slight suspicion that I am rambling...

Almut (who is still crazy and suffering from a bout of acute elf-longing ;-))

Ramble away, Almut - I am listening, as all good friends should - patiently. :-)

Re Swordhelm - I'm afraid I must explain: it was my own name for him *Sheepish grin* becasue he was known as Dragon-helm and Dread-helm (I've added that to the story) - but I thought it would provide a nice comparison to Aragorn and Legolas. After all, Turin was good with his sword.

You can have the elfling tomorrow night - tonight, I'M hugging him! lol
