Blood brotherhood--a tie I'd not even thought of between the two of them! How appropriate! And tying the thought of the saving of Faramir by seeking out the one capable of doing so to the thought of saving Merry by the same means long ago helps bring all full circle--he's not only saving Boromir's legacy by seeing to it Boromir's brother survives the father's madness, but he is also saving Merry all over again.
