| I'm going all the way back to the beginning to read through your stories, and this one was very compelling. The scene between Faramir and Aragorn in Tolkien is so gripping, especially the way Faramir instinctively recognizes Aragorn as his King. You've captured this nicely in your expanded view of the proceedings. Very good story. | So, here goes: I meant to read A Time To Reap, then I realized I was supposed to read Web of Treason first, started that and found I had to go back even further and have now eventually decided to read your stories in the order you suggest. This story gives a good picture of just how strenuous this experience was for Aragorn and just how traumatized Faramir was. It also sets the scene nicely for their relationship to develop. It is noticable that this is one of your early stories - there were a few awkward phrases that wouldn't be found in your present work. You started out ell, but you've become much better since! | Faramir has such honesty. It just shines - and he is humble enough not to spend a lot of time thinking about how everyone else owes him respect. His immediate recognition and acceptance of Aragorn must have made the restoration of the kingship about seven zillion percent more likely to happen smoothly. In fact, you could call him Faramir the Kingmaker - though he wouldn't recognise that. Good to see how they bond in friendship right from the beginning - even if they don't entirely know yet how important they will be to each other. Author Reply: I think that is the main difference between Faramir and his father,his humility.I think it sometimes gets overlooked that without Faramir's support,it would have been very hard,if not almost impossible for ARagorn to become King.I wanted to show how their recognised each other as kindred spirits. | Wow, Linda! That was amazing! I just love h/c stories, and Aragorn/Faramir stories, so this was a Double Blessing! I love how you describe Aragorn's desire to heal once he made the connection with Faramir - very emotional and deeply touching. Faramir will have a "father's" love no matter what. | He felt protective towards this young man. If he had he been allowed to marry when he wished, he could easily have a son of his age by now and any child of his and Arwen’s would have raven hair and grey eyes like Faramir. As the young Steward had made it clear he accepted him as King, maybe soon he would be blessed with a son of his own. How lovely this is. Another wonderful story.
