First Meeting  by Linda Hoyland 4 Review(s)

The young Hobbit’s warmth heartened him and somewhat restored his flagging energy.

What a sweet image. And this is marvelous:

He could sense now that here was a man of quality, a man that Gondor needed and that he would need too if he ever became King. He would value this man’s friendship and desired the opportunity to try and make up to him for all he had lost or been denied.

And this life-and-death struggle truly showed Aragorn's quality, as well.

Lovely fic! I love the way you described Aragorn's doubts if Faramir will acknowlege his claim to the throne of Gondor. And it makes me angry to think about Denethor. He has done his youngest son a great injustice. It is amazing how well Faramir turned out in spite of the way his father treated him for so long. It is sad to see his self-doubts.
I would like to see a sequel about their first real conversation later and their thoughts and feelings then.
Well done!

This is a beautiful job! I love the way you show all the doubts and fears Aragorn must have had as he tried to save the son of the Steward, and also that it was a long and weary struggle until Bergil found the athelas. Very well done!
