The Courtship of Peregrin Took  by PIppinfan1988 5 Review(s)

"Pippin was tired, too, however, he wanted the chance to speak confidentially with Merry. He got up, walking over to the hearth to relight his pipe. Pippin held a long, thin piece of kindling over the hearth fire then set it to his pipe bowl, puffing on the stem until the leaf burned a bright orange. He waited patiently while Everard and Merry finished sharing a few private words of their own."

This is a picture beautifully painted, I love it!

Great chapter!

“Sapphira?”

The young nursemaid looked up at her newest friend. “I…I don’t know.”

Sounds like there might be a problem here. I look forward to finding out how things go.

Everard sure is rushing things along, isn't he? He must be one of those married people that thinks everyone else should be married. Poor Pip, I do wish he could manage to take Merry's advice this time, but I am guessing that he will have to do it the hard way just like he always does. I am enjoying this one. Hope there will be more soon.

Author Reply: Oh...I like Everard, but yes, he is one of "those people", though I think unintentionally. I believe Pippin knows himself the best, and he *is* ready to settle down; he just has to find the right lass, and ignore peer pressure such as this. I am so glad you're enjoying this--and I hope to update again before the weekend is out. Thank you so much for reading!

*sigh*
If only Pippin would listen to Merry...

And I am guessing that Sapphira is still in love with her old flame...

Poor Pip.

Author Reply: Yes, poor Pip. The road to true love for him is a hard one. I am afraid that your guess is....very correct. :-) Stuff will begin to unravel soon. Thank you for reading!

p.s. I'm in the middle of your challenge tales at work; wonderful beginning! Hopefully I'll finish it all by tomorrow. Gotta wee chuckle at Wil...poor hobbit! Think he's under a bit of stress. ;-)

Oh dear. They're both rebounding, and that is never a good way to start a long-lasting relationship. They both need to step back and assess how they really feel. If they're not careful, both of them could end up getting hurt and losing any chance they have at even being friends. I hope they slow down and realize that this isn't quite right yet.

Hope what I'm saying makes sense.

Author Reply: Well, something--or someone--will make them slow down eventually. Yes, they're both in this thing for the wrong reasons. Thank you so much for reading! :-) Hope you're well rested now. ;-)

I'm interested in how the relationship with Sapphira leads to the introduction between Pippin and Diamond, of course; and I am afraid Sapphira is still in love with her ex.

Love the writing.

Author Reply: Not to fear, Larner--that is coming in the very near future. Sapphira's "sadness" is all part of the disaster of this relationship. Thank you for the compliment--I take all to heart. Thank you for stopping by to read!
