A Cup Full of Words  by Berzerker_prime 5 Review(s)

nice little peek into how Faramir and Beregond might have become friends. Good job on writing them drunk! The nervousness of the two felt genuine. Good job. And good for Pippin and Merry for doing what had to be done, no matter the cost. ;-) Much fun!

Wonderful! Nice writing style - and not predictable, which is hard to do with so many tales floating around.

I agree, many of the fourth age tales insert an imagined Faramir/Beregond childhood friendship. Nothing wrong with that at all, but this is refreshing. And not a bit of Faramir angst - rare. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those type of stories, but it's nice to get a non-tortured Hurin once in a while.

What a fun picture of Faramir! So he can chug a pint? Good for him. I expect he and Boromir had some experience at this.

But there's a serious undertone here, one that is very touching. The idea of Beregond standing as Faramir's brother was lovely.

I love it! I love those two thick-headed, prideful Men who so desperately need the intervention of two hobbits and a keg to break down the walls and become friends. Because it's so obvious that they both need a friend, and they're too. . . male. . . to admit it.

And I love that Merry and Pippin are so obvious and no one really cares.

I didn't know there was a General Idea out that Beregond and Faramir were old friends. I know that I made them old Army buddies mainly because I needed a friend for Faramir and using Beregond was easier and tidier than making up an OC, but I have no idea why anyone else does it.

Ahh. Male bonding. What a good thing there are hobbits around. (Shame the bonding experience always ends with a hangover, though.)
