Hi White Wolf. What a magical story. Ah to have the world full of unicorns and pegasus. Who knows it might be a slightly better world.

I liked this story idea. I have a thing for unicorns - not to mention a thing for elves - so the combining of these most beautiful of mythical creatures was lovely.

Just why did young Legolas dream of the unicorn? Perhaps it was a gift from the Valar.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I, too, have a thing for elves (one elf in particular) and unicorns, and I had fun putting the two together.

My story was limited because it was written for a contest. However, I hope to write a sequel. I think Legolas would agree with you that it was indeed a gift.

Ahhhh! *deep, satisfied sigh* Sheer Magic! And the ending with both father and son sharing the same magical experience is perfect! Wonderful!

Author Reply: Thank you very much. I have to admit I was kind of proud of the ending. Even though Legolas and Thranduil can't talk to each other about their experience, the fact they share it is nice (and made me smile, when I wrote it).

This is a lovely, charming tale. :-) I especially liked the ending. It is fun to think that there would be fantastic creatures such as unicorns that filled the heads of Middle-earthers like elves fill our heads.

Author Reply: Thanks again, Karri. When I thought of the idea that Thranduil had also had that experience, I knew it was the perfect ending.

That is a very satisfying notion, especially considering the fact my head stays full of elves. :o)

Lovely story with a wonderful ending! These elves really are tied to all the creatures of Arda, even the "mythical" ones.

Author Reply: Thank you. I love the idea that the elves are so connected to Arda and all the wonderful creatures in it, even as you say, the mythical ones.

Well, if I were a unicorn, I would appear for Legolas! And Thranduil! What a wonderful experience - for both of them.

Author Reply: I couldn't agree more! I love that they share that experience, even though they aren't aware of it.

Oh, what a sweet little story! I especially like the coda, and the revelation of how Thranduil once had the same experience. It adds a poignant note to the king's earlier insistence that unicorns do not exist.

Author Reply: Thank you. Unfortunately, because of the secret they each felt they had to keep, they weren't able to share the experience with each other. But we know, and someday they may know, too.
