Third and Forth Age Drabbles  by Elvenesse 4 Review(s)

I like this one very much. I often felt that those who fought at the battle before the Black Gate could have had no real hope of survival - but they were prepared to sacrifice their lives in the faint hope that they could distract Sauron long enough for Frodo to succeed. Once they thought Frodo had been captured ... Very nicely done, Kate.

Author Reply: Poor Legolas, I must admit that I get a very strong desire to hug him sometimes. It was the part in the film where they charge 'for Frodo' that really brought the futility of that moment home to me.

I've spent today collecting all my drabbles and putting them in one place, I have a lot more than I thought. It's a shame SoA doesn't take slash.

Thank you for re-posting this one - I loved it at the time, but had nearly forgotten it! I particularly liked the part of the twins with their new sister.

I've always liked this moment in Hollin for its oddness - it seems so strange that Legolas has more empathy with the stones than the trees.

Very nice, Kate. I like the fact that Legolas immediately realises that 'Estel' is rather different from other Men he has ncountered.
