OK... now that was SO NOT what I was expecting!!! I had to re-read it to make sure I'd understood what you'd just pulled on all us readers. GOOD JOB, Simon! WOW. That was just awesome, and COMPLETELY unexpected. I love how you wrote this from the URUK'S pov.... wow again. Awesome, awesome piece. :) Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review. Some times a little twist can be good.

Oh, I liked this. I loved seeing things from the Orc's perspective -- that just made the whole battle very real. You understand that it's not just Men, an Elf, and a Dwarf fighting these soulless machines, but that there are two armies full of people involved in the battle. I've recently begun to consider writing an Orc's-eye-view story myself, and should I decided that that idea is worth pursuing, I will definitely remember this as a model of how to do it right. Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and reveiw. One does not find many Helm's Deep scenes from the Orc perspective. It is always from the Elven archers ( who were not really there), Aragorn, or one of the other two, or from the Rohirrim. It was kind of fun to do something different.

Ah, a beautiful moment shared unwittingly by the two princes, prince of men and prince of elves. Very nice, good writing skills, excellent moment. Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review.

Ohhhhhh! Sneaky, sneaky! I thought that the first archer was an elf, just goes ot show you how spoiled I've been. I love the way you twisted the perspectives! Great writing! Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review. Sneaky is my middle name.

That was very clever done! At first I thought it was Legolas, but when he beheld someone on the rampart, it was clear: this one is an Orc. Then I thought, he aims at Aragorn - wrong again, for Aragorn is the one who saves Legolas! So I must admit, your twist worked for me, not only once, but twice :) Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review. Glad the double twist worked for you.

Well done! The first hint of the first portion being from an Uruk's viewpoint is when you put "it" in quotations; if you removed those, it would have an even greater impact when you switched to Aragorn's viewpoint. Even so, well done, and no apologies necessary. Thanks for writing this. Blessings, Mum Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review. I had not thought about removing the quotation marks from around 'it'. The I heart Elfs' I probably should have removed as it is an inside joke.

Very clever! Bravo! This is not a fic to read first thing out of bed...had to read it twice. ;-) Author Reply: Thank for taking the time to read and review. It is kind of a twister to read.

Clever twist! I rather like thinking of Legolas being seen as a 'horrible' and 'spiteful creature'. And of Aragorn getting in there and saving him without him being aware of it at all. Author Reply: Thank you for taking the time to read and review. One has to wonder what the Orcs thought of their foes at Helm's Deep. Was it, "Oooo, pretty!" or more along the lines of, "Lunch!" Random Orc # 7,789 assured me that he was thinking of lunch.
