The Wounded Hand  by Eruanna 12 Review(s)
EverlightReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/12/2014
Eruanna,

Oh, that is so sweet. It is amazing how wise children are. I am blessed to work with them often and have learned that they know far more than we 'adults' think.

It is so good to read a story written by another follower of Christ. Eleanor's explanation is the perfect reason why Jesus Christ's hands are beautiful.
They are wounded but it is because of those wounds that the light shines through!
How beautiful. I had never thought about it that way at all.

Thank you for this beautiful story. Keep on writing and using your talents for God.

In Christ,
Everlight

P.S. You can call me Ever. You can message me (if you want to)on fanfiction.com as Everlight18

That's heart-wrenching!

‘I call it his beautiful hand,’ she said again, ‘because that’s the one the light shines through.’

I can perfeclty well picture Sam gaping at her for I would do the same.
You have a way with words!

Author Reply: *sniff* Oh, thank you Lily! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed this! And I can't tell you how it moves me to read all these lovely reviews. You all are wonderfully encouraging. Thank you so much!

oh, that was just perfect. just what a child would say, just the wisdom that an adult would miss. And so well done, with the last line needing nothing else but what you wrote. I knew something was coming, but it didn't prepare me for such a wonderful insight.
What a wonderful way to remind us to listen to the children around us. Years do not mean wisdom.

Author Reply: Aren't children something else? I think a five year old is very often the wisest person in the world. :) No adult would have said that to Sam, because they would have been too afraid of hurting him. But Elanor doesn't worry about such things: she can just say it, and it was the very thing Sam needed to hear most.

Thank you so much for your review: it's really very encouraging! :)

Wow. Don't know why that caught me by surprise..
Got me a little teary eyed.... *sniffle*

Author Reply: This story seemed almost to write itself, and Elanor caught even me by surprise. ;) Thanks so much for the kind review: it means a lot!

O... lovely! Lovely and sad and perfect. You're right Elanor.

Sometimes it takes the innocence of a child to see the light in something that was dark and terrible and be the reminder that good came from ill.

Lovely job! :)

Author Reply: As Gandalf might say, everyone ought to have a child or two in their keeping, to help us see the true beauty and splendor of life. Thank you so much for the review!

Well, you just left me stunned. Took me a moment to process that one.
Simply stunning, and as the mother of a rather precocious five year old girl, I can easily see a little one saying something like that. Such a beautiful insight!

Author Reply: Oh, thank you so much! I'm so glad that as a mother of a young girl you didn't find this unrealistic. I've known a few very wise children, but I haven't really spent *that* much time with little ones, so I'm glad you think this sounded plausible! :)

With the few youngsters I have spent a fair amount of time with, I've always been amazed at how they can say something so innocent and so simple that just astounds everyone around them. It's the simple things that we so often miss, until a child points them out.

Thank you for such a very kind and encouraging review! I'm glad you liked this. :)
