A Light In Dark Places  by Shirebourn 23 Review(s)

Oooh! This is really, truly wonderful! Your Diamond is very different from mine-as is your Estella, incidentally-but still, I'm enjoying it so much! Though, I do think that Pippin wouldn't be such a fool after the War, as to pelt his sisters with rotten fruit. Though that is just an opinion.

Very entertaining. Pippin is up to tricks and pranks but I wonder if his hiding place or the path leading to it will get him into more trouble than the actual trick. Unless I miss my guess there is more to this than one can see at first glance. Oh, and I would not want Pervinca that mad at me! LOL

A NASTY trick to pull on the lasses. But live the tree ROOTS house! Wonderful hiding place!

Poor Pippin--caught in the midst of a most confusing tweenage state with a dad who's being--as he sees it--cryptic, and being pressed to make a commitment somewhere and relatively soon. And his youth is slipping away from him......

Interesting chapter. I think if Paladin would allow Pippin time, he might be more interested in marriage. The first part of the chapter where Pippin is watching other folks get on with their daily lives, he seems a bit interested in the way things continue, but Paladin takes these thoughts right out of him with his serious lecture on the importance of duty and marriage. I wonder if it will cause Pippin to avoid Diamond or if he will talk to her about this? Looking forward to more like always!

And now Diamond is testing the waters by telling Pippin something of her visions. I wonder what will happen next? Will Diamond tell Pippin some of her dreams and if she does what will his reaction be? I like the slow way that they are getting to one another in this tale and I love the idea that it is Diamond who sees the future. Eagerly awaiting more and I am so sorry that I missed this when it was first posted. I am enjoying this story so very much!

I love it and I have no idea how I missed it before. I must put you on my story alert so that I can know when you post new chapters. I love the very mature way that Diamond approached Pippin. His answer to where he had been was very good also.

(“Not all of it – let it suffice that we went away, naïve of where and how long we’d be gone. We were called away – perhaps it was our duty, as it was the duty of many others as well, to go where we had gone, and to not return, as we were lucky enough to do so.”)

He was honest but he did not tell all by any means. It was almost as if he was testing her ability to hear it and his own to tell it. This continues to be a lovely story.

Well, I think Pippin just might accept it a bit better than Fosco believes.

Diamond needs to trust Pippin a bit, and he needs someone he can trust in return.

Sorry I'm having to catch up. Actually, the Thain before Paladin was Cousin Ferumbras, but that's okay. And it's interesting to see how you show the defining meeting between Pippin and Diamond. I've tried it also, and it's fun to play with.

Poor Pervinca--she was foiled at getting Pippin into trouble. Hopefully she won't be disappointed in like manner again, as hopefully they are both growing out of that phase of relationship.

As for the foresight, I, too, have seen some hobbits having ESP moments, so that is one device I truly like seeing and exploring, and you are handling it well. Hope that Pippin comes to trust her enough to tell her about it soon.

Okay, after this time Pippin is now still putting frogs in his sister's bed? And Diamond is starting to peep into lads' bedrooms, is she? Interesting! Heh!
