And yet another very evil character heard from. I always feel a bit sad at this point because I do wonder if he was ever the good wizard that Gandalf believed him to be. I wonder if he was tempted by the Palantir in match the same way that poor Denethor was. I know Denethor was a victim but I’ve never been completely certain about Saruman. Great writing as always! GW
Author Reply: I think Saruman was a victim of his own pride and power hunger. He had turned in mid Third Age i believe to want the Ring for himself and hide what he knew from the White Council. I think he turned evil much earlier than Gandalf and the elves perceived. Thank you so much for leaving me this review! |
