This drabble evokes such a strong feeling of uneasy truce.
...hold the wintry dark at bay, for a little while The elements of the conflict, though almost hidden, are all present--the Ring, Boromir's struggle with temptation, and his death ("mortal lives"). How did you do that in so few words? :-D

But you have plots, and characters, and things actually happening in your stories! Whereas mine mostly consist of thinking, or eating, or thinking about eating. With pretty scenery around.
