Celebrian, Sell i Nos Galadhad   by Redheredh 3 Review(s)

Catching up... I've been biting my nails since I saw the alert...but I was finally able to sit and enjoy. I'm amazed as usual, Redheredh, at your crafted style. I like how every conversation turns into a flow of explaining words from the author in order just to hint at what is hidden or implied or suggested by the spoken exchange, enriching and filling it all with new meaning.

You have portrayed such a complicated court, with so many subtleties and talented players that poor Aurthon seems totally our of is league, despite his over confident view of self. The moment Celeborn and Hrassa catch them and begin toying with them I was reminded of a pair of felines playing with their prey... thankfully without biting, poor Aurthon, he did not deserve that!

I like the playful, charming, teasing side of Celeborn we get to see here, and how Aurthon perceives him. And remembering Celebrimbor's trouble with shirts and linens in the last chapter one cannot help laughing along with these Sindar at how well they manage to lead things to their own way. This chapter was a true jewel!

Oh my, thank you very much!

Yeah, work is rather *distracting* sometimes, when you should be able to sit and enjoy your hobby more. Thanks for the compliments. They salve my poor ego. I dispair of explanations at times, espcially when I take so long and get so wordy setting up the meaning I want to get across.

I know I over-complicate things. ;) But, Celeborn and Hrassa weren't toying with Aurthon, just pushing him along. And he wanted to go along. I'm still not sure anyone understood the 'odds' thing over the wine-cups.

Celeborn can be stern like Aurthon says, but he likes being kind more. And who can resist him when he's being nice? ];} I think he likes the ladies, young ladies, in particular. He certainly knew some great ones. He would have to have picked up quite a few skills dealing with Melian, Luthien, Nimloth, and Galadriel, me thinks. And then there's Elu, Eol, and Oropher.

Thank you again for this much apprciated review!

My goodness, but they all have to be sharp as tacks all the time! They daren't let their attention slip for a second. They're so busy picking up on a twitch of an eyebrow and a fractionally bigger smile and the tone of a response - whilst walking a tightrope over a shark-infested pool. It's wonderful.

Poor Aurthon. He's really kept off-balance - never quite sure if he's gainin or losing. (I'm not sure he's quite up to the game yet.) Laerlinath is more dangerous, probably, but they're both puling babes next to Hrassa and Celeborn. And now Elrovail has joined the party. I think our young couple should just step back and watch - and learn.

the Sindar princes’ mates were all beguiled into marriage Lovely thought! I do think that Galadriel is - almost - putty in Celeborn's hands (and happy to be that way) and that they both enjoy convincing the world that she's the tough guy.

And he managed them all with no more than a smile. Hrassa and Laerlinath... I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops!

Oh, interesting stuff. I just love the sneaky subtle dance of diplomacy and manipulation. Looking forward to discovering what comes next! I expect Hrassa is, too!

Author Reply: Really? You mean it's not like this at your workplace? ;)

Well, the others have been doing this sort of thing for some time now... But, Aurthon is doing fine, if you ask me. Celebrimbor's the one missing the boat for not advancing him just like Laerlinath says.

Ha! I don't think the Exiles thought it so lovely a thing! Ya know, you have bought this up before, how they just Click! when they meet their spouses. Yes, *almost*. But then, he is the same way sometimes, I would think. - Whatever you want, honey. Just tell me and it's yours. 'Cause I'm yours. *SMILE* -

Well, these are friends, not soldiers, after all. I think Aurthon is indeed worried about those two getting along when let alone together. That is getting along too well...

Next chapter may have to catch up with Celebrimbor again. I will have to wait and see how much I get polished up. Galadriel will come out of the great hall soon enough for Hrassa, who better be really ready to apologize to a lady.

Thank you so much for reviewing!

I just have to say how much I enjoyed this - and I'll be back later for a proper analysis!
