Celebrian, Sell i Nos Galadhad   by Redheredh 4 Review(s)

I had to read this in hits-and-runs all day, and happily I made notes.
Yay, more history! Hrassa has gotten more than his share of it... very fascinating to be in his head, to see a Green-elf feel for the way events played out; and his loyalty to Celeborn’s house is splendid.
Ah, you unravel the Amdir, Amroth, Malgalad mess. Celeborn becomes a more dynamic character; honestly, I would never guess that from his performance in the movie. *laughs and coughs*
Looking forward to my next read!

Author Reply: As long as you do not think I am pounding you over the head with that history, I am pleased. ;) It sometimes seems respect can be earned, but loyalty like love is much more mysterious. Mysterious in all meaning of the word.
*g* One of my goals is to try and get divergent accounts of things to connect together in some way. Oh please! He is not Mr. Cellophane! At all!

Thanks for continued interest!

He became kinda like a her living keepsake of Celeborn at a very bad time in her life. But, that's another story.

And one I would very much like to hear!

And the Dior/Nimloth situation didn't last very long, did it? Celeborn has already known Elrond since the previous age - and will have the rest of this one to check him out. And then maybe politics will combine with paternal pride. Or maybe he will have learned by then that his daughter has inherited too much of her parents' genes to be manipulated by anyone!

What a great chapter!
I loved Celeborn's magic and playful prestidigitation! It was great for it added that phisycal touch to the conversation, it was fun to try and picture the whole scene: the "prison" card and the stone walls, the music from the feast and the grim guards, and Celeborn moving his hands and disclosing that wonderful plan, that brilliant concoction which turned out to be just *another* layer of the deepest trutuh.

I found Celeborn's *plot* interesting in some points. It is interseting to see that Amdir and Oropher are not yet kings at this point, and that Celeborn will enver be one. I so much agree with you in that, in the fact that he never sought it, I mean! :-)

His intentions to build a kind of "superstructure" for "all elves" is endearing and it gives him credit. pIty that things won't turn out that way, unfortunately, but his intentions are good and... has he set his eye upon Elrond as a son in law already? :-)

And Hrassa is such a wonderful strong, so very fittingly developed character! At one point, I almost espected that he would feel the urge to hit the playfuul prince, rather than shake him ! :-) THe guards wouldn't have taken it kindly, though!

It is fascinating how you are building this story in such a delicate moment. The fall of Eregion will change so many things...

A wonderful wonderful chapter. GO on as you may, but do go on! :-)

You are so kind! Your words mean alot to me after reading your own complex story, "New Beginnings". "Many Fruitless Victories" too!

History does not come wrapped up like a present with a big bow. It happens - just like some other natural functions usually left out of fiction. And the plans of mice and elves often go awry... give or take a millenium. ...so Do Not Panic

Well, we'll be back with Celebrimbor in the next chapter.

Thanks for reviewing!

So Celeborn has his sights on a great future? With himself as the conjurer? Not himself a king, but with the ear of several? I almost see Elrond tagged as 'son-in-law' material already here.

I should think Hrassa's brain is aching with the effort of trying to untangle all Celeborn's hints and concealments. And still he is trying to put his point across.

I am glad Hrassa has been retrieved from confinement - and look forward to discovering what happens next to him.

Fascinating discussions. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Hrassa will spend time in conversation with Galadriel, too.

Author Reply:
Hmm,'son-in-law' material. Celeborn saw his neice married to a peredhel and that didn't turn out so good for them, did it.

Well, Hrassa seems to be ready to let it go and rest his brain for now. Not that he will be allowed to for very long.

I know I get a kick out of this kind of stuff, but I am always surprised when someone else does! Galadriel has a special place in her heart for Hrassa. He became kinda like a her living keepsake of Celeborn at a very bad time in her life. But, that's another story. ];}

And it's back to Celebrimbor next chapter.

Thank you so much for reviewing.
