Aiee, I didn't review this when I first read it! (Nasty habit of mine.) I did love it. :)

Author Reply: Thank you for reading, and reviewing. I confess this is one of my own favorite stories - I love the image of charming Boromir dancing courteously with all those lucky ladies.

What Denethor lost, as one who once loved him now accepts the temporary attentions of the son who might have been, possibly, hers.

Lovely

Author Reply: Thank you for your kinds words! It's funny, isn't it, where these stories get started - this was inspired by handsome Kiefer Sutherland and his lovely dad Donald, one of the Great Crushes of my youth.

I came to this story as a Boromir fan, and am delighted with both the perspective of him in this story, and that the perspective of the story is not his. Very poignant; artfully done. Not a false note or extraneous moment.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind words, Nancy! I'm a drabblist (though this came out as a double drabble) so I have learned to pare scenes down to the essentials, while using (or attempting, anyway!)the most powerful, colorful, or evocative words.

There is poetry in your prose.

Lovely imagery, breath-taking, beautiful and bittersweet at one.

And I love the title.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your kind words! I really hate having to come up with titles; I searched long and hard for this one. Here's the complete quote:

"Shake off your heavy trance,
and leap into a dance,
Such as no mortals use to tread,
fit only for Apollo
To play to, for the Moon to lead,
And all the Stars to follow."
Francis Beaumont (1584–1616), British dramatist.

It does describe radiant Boromir so perfectly, doesn't it?
