Very well done... You can see the concern everyone has for Pippin. he sleeps a lot,and is in great pain.
He wakes to a voice he dosen't reconize, and then you can sense the fear he has once seeing Gimli. He dosen't reconize him and dosen't recall what has happened and panics.
This is great, enjoyed reading it very much...Update soon...

Author Reply: Thanks! I have another chapter that will be ready for posting soon. :)

I am so glad to see you are telling the story of "A New Kind of Courage" from the POV of Pippin's experiences. As I said in my review of that story, you are the first writer I have seen who has done anything specifically with the head injury, and I find that greatly interesting to read.

Poor Pippin...he seems to be especially young in this story, hurt as he is. Looking forward to more PippinAngst--and some coddling so he gets better!:)

Author Reply: Pippin does come across as a bit young in this story (and in parts of 'Courage' as well). A lot of that is the function of his injuries and confusion. He matures so much during the course of the Quest but right now he doesn't remember any of that and he still perceives himself as the young, irresponsible lad he was before he left the Shire.

I'm happy to know you're enjoying this so far! :)

Poor Pippin! To be in so much pain and with "strangers" but be frightening! I hope they are able to make good progress in becoming friends again. I'm sure it is a little upsetting for Gimli as well, someone he has come to love not knowing and even afraid of him! Looking forward to more!

Author Reply: Pippin's awakening was difficult for everyone involved, lol. It's especially hard for Pippin thought, because not only has he lost a chunk of memory and woken up among strangers, they aren't even hobbits. It would have to be totally overwhelming.

I'm glad you liked this chapter! :)

Poor dear frightened Pip!!! And bless Gimli for being so gentle and caring with the lad.

Author Reply: I've always loved Gimli. His feelings go so much deeper than he's ever willing to admit. :)

I found myself thinking how lucky it is that Pippin had at least seen Dwarves as a child thanks to Bilbo. He may not know who Gimli is, but at least he knows something about him. I think that Aragorn will have his hands full when he tries to explain all of this to Pippin once he comes around again. they really do need Merry at this point, don't they? I do love how this fits with "Courage".

Author Reply: Yeah, it's gonna be fun for Aragorn. He's going to have to think very carefully about what and how much he tells Pippin. It will all be so much easier once Merry is there, but that is still a few days away. :)

Recovery isn't going to be particularly easy, I fear. And I can see the effects of the concussion are pretty severe.

So far I've not seen anything particularly at odds with Merry's story.

Author Reply: Pippin's brain has been rattled but good, poor lad. He's going to have a rough time of it, particularly until Merry arrives. But he'll get through it in his own Pippinish way. :)
