I'm so glad i got Pippin's point of view too in this. :D Your gentle sleepy hobbits h/c Cormallen fics are making me smile a lot. :)

I love the tender h/c that you have for Pippin. It was nice to hear some of Pippin's memories resurfacing though. :D Our hobbit heroes have gone through so much! =)

I love this story too! So much h/c and aww~ poor Pippin and not remembering much about the Quest. :D
I love your Aragorn&Gimli&Legolas interaction too~ i love the care and concern they have for one another. :)
And yes, your healing Aragorn is described so well. =)

I was a bi disappointed to see "the end" at the end of this chapter. But I'm glad that we'll be seeing more as individual stories, I will keep an eye out for them, mind you ;)

Pippin wasn't getting many answers was he? I did like how you wrote him trying to questions Strider and not wanting to be side tracked but food got the better of him! Thanks for the story, I'm just sad to see it end, of sorts.

Author Reply: I'm glad you enjoyed the story and I promise, there will be more. :D

I can't imagine not being able to get answers about Frodo and Sam... it was a secret, but he must have felt indignant, especially since he knew before his injury and wasn't permitted to know now. I understand why Aragorn didn't tell him, but I still sympathize with our dear Pip!

Author Reply: Poor Pippin, he's been very frustrated through all of this. Thanks for reading. :)

Love how Pippin's memories return and how he is gaining them a few at a time. To have them all slam back into him at once would be too much for anyone to handle. I look forward to more of this and the arrival of Merry. Again, this is such a great companion piece to "Courage"!

Author Reply: Thanks! This way, instead of getting punched in the gut by all his memories returning at once, Pippin gets to suffer over and over again as he regains little bits of the Quest at a time. You're right though, it would have been terribly overwhelming to get hit with it all at once. :)

I came across this as Marigolds recommendation in March so I’m a bit late (as in chapter 4) in reviewing. Forgive the lapse.
Hey, you really inspired me to write a short little non-LotR piece on war but that’s beside the point. I wanted to compliment you on the fact that you didn’t just blow off Frodo and Sam being tracked by Gandalf and the Eagles. I’ve read a number of stories where folks don’t even mention it (as can be expected because it’s such a horrible thought that they didn’t survive). You not only mentioned it but you gave your characters a few moments to worry on it.
I also thought Aragorn’s weariness VERY appropriate. Whoa. If there’d ever been a time to try that man’s strength it would have been after that battle.

You seemed to handle all the distances between battle and resting places very well. I, for one, have not been able to figure out who was where when, but I know that not everyone in the Fellowship was in the same place at the same time after the fall of Sauron and so I appreciate that you’ve kept the timeline correct, as far as I can tell ;-) .

Ooooh, and you used “a scratch at the flap of his tent” instead of “a knock” BIG BONUS POINTS in my book.

The point were Pippin begins to come back into the real world was nicely worked. Poor lad. I liked the little hints of recognition that brought him around.

I found it rather amusing that Pippin can not escape whatever evil medicinal brew Strider has concocted no matter what.

That's one of the things I've struggled with the most in this (as well as "Courage"). I'm not sure my distances and timing are terribly accurate, but I've tried to keep them consistent, at least, lol.

Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment. :)

Wow, how hard for Pippin to now remeber bits and pieces but not be able to put it all together. Legolas introducing himself again and Pippin not sure how to respond. How hard. I'm looking forward to finding out how things come along!

Author Reply: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying this story. :)

How wonderful to see Pippin's point of view. I rearead A New Kind of Courage last night (it's rather surprising how much one can forget so quickly!) and enjoyed it immensely (again); so now it's fresh in my memory and it was lovely to see a new chapter of the companinon today!

Author Reply: Thanks! I'm having fun being able to write this story from Pippin's point of view, finally. I had to be very strict with myself while I was writing 'Courage,' lol. :)

How confusing to know you have seen someone but not be able to figure out from where! I'm glad that he remembered Gandalf that must have been comofrting.

Poor Aragorn not being able to finsih his meal! I hope that he gets some time to himself as well! Looking forward to more! And curious about exactly how much Pippin remembers!

Author Reply: This whole situation is so confusing and frustrating for Pippin. People claiming to know him when he doesn't know them, people looking familiar although he doesn't remember ever meeting them. He is definitely going to be happier once he starts remembering things again. :)
