One Day at a Time  by Saoirse 2 Review(s)
Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 1 on 1/30/2005
I loved this because it rang so true as to the fears of every new parent that maybe they won't be able to do enough or do the right things for their child. I also liked how you personalized it to make it very Pippin with his worries over being a "fool of a Took". I also liked the discussion of why he was naming the baby Faramir. A great many fictions just make it out to be only for his friendship for Faramir, but I liked his reasoning here about remembering to love the child and never take him for granted. Beautifully done!

I too have always felt that there must have been more to the fact of Pippin naming his son after Faramir than simply there friendship (although that was undoubtably part of it) I'm glad that you liked my interpretation.

Thank you for reading, and as always, thank you for you kind comments. I always appreciate them :)

Well done...
Pippin is a father and it weighs on his mind heavily. He wonders if he may make mistakes as all parents do from time to time and ponders those affects to his child. He is in his mind still so inexperienced in the ways of life no mater what he did in his travels.
Diamond seems so cold and indifferents to him. Do you love me? She cannot answer even a simply question. As though love should be a difficult task a duty. He gives thier son the name Faramir, one that will always stand out in his mind of a son that was unloved.
He is afraid of not doing enough or rejecting him as faramir's did as did pippin's own. Even though these question tumble out you can see he loves this child very much...
A mothers love should be on an equal setting, yet what will become of him if she cannot love this child as pippin can....

Very well writing...keep up the good work...

Author Reply: Thank you for reading and responding, and for your thoughtful comments, they are always a pleasure to read.

Yes, I too think that even though Pippin is afraid he will not be a good father, that he will definitely be one. Diamond is very cold, I'm afraid, but at least young Faramir will always have his father's love.

:)
