Spring  by Hriviel 4 Review(s)

Big Awwwwww moment, those two looking out on the plain, clinging together, the hair mingling; and you capture the wistful longing and nascent love in our favorite young Steward's heart.

Author Reply: The only full scene E/F shippers received was 50 seconds long. So here I had fun analyzing the part over and over. A real hallmark of the Eowyn and Faramir's love is the image of their hair, raven and golden. So, a tribute to redhead Daisy Wenham: chestnut!

I was a bit worried that I'd make Faramir's love thoughts too silly or too fake. All I know of love comes from books. I am very glad it came across well.

Thank you again, Raksha the Demon!

You're giving us much more, and more finely detailed, scenes, than PJ did in the movie ROTK. I'm glad that you remembered Mablung, and spared him.

Author Reply: Since PJ chose to keep the film mostly Frodo-centric, I tried to incorporate what Tolkien gave us in the book, but keep it true to what we see onscreen. I do have an obsession for details, such as the use of lavender to promote sleep in Eowyn's chamber, a story behind Boromir's vambraces, etc ... I put Mablung as a connection to the books. I couldn't bear killing off all the Rangers. :)

Thanks for the review!

Lovely! I just read the entire story. You did a nice job of simplifying the words from the book to make them more movie-ish. At least I'm assuming that it was you? I know that they've released the LOTR scripts and I've been wondering if it includes the deleted scenes?

Anyway, I really enjoyed your story. It was a good piecing together of those two short scenes we get in the movie and helped explain what Faramir was doing when he first see's Eowyn.

I hope you write more.
LOTW

Author Reply: Yep, it was me. But when the scene got too hard to "translate" I just tried to remain true. Sometimes, the modernizations made me cringe. In the beginning, I tried to stay PJ/Fran/Philippa faithful, but ended up with the story having a life of its own.

I think i wasn't the only one who was confused with "why is he looking into her room?" haha. But i realy liked the idea that it was the first time he saw her.

Anyway, thank you very much for the review! I appreciate it greatly. :)

Oh, I wish you hadn't posted such a short chapter. I wanted to read more. So many people have dealt with this already, but your prose sounds a lot better than other authors'. I think this one would be well worth reading.

Author Reply: Thanks, Jenni! You actually caught me in the middle of publishing. :) But the rest is up now. Hope you enjoy!
