Fwo & Unga Bee Universe: "A Part to Play"   by cpsings4him 7 Review(s)

I moved from a desert southwest city to a rural east coast neighborhood this year, and my Pippin pup is now exuberantly trying to dig up mouse nests. Every time she roots around in the grass I think of this adorable story, and tell her that the mouzes don't want her in their houzes! Thank you again for such adorable, sweet tales.

I had this marked from the 2007 MEFAwards and am so glad I did. What an absolutely precious tale. I loved Frodo's manner of speach and the way Bilbo handled the whole situation. I was sorry to see it end.

Great job.

That was adorible!! I love the way Frodo talks, it is so cute. And I am so glad he understands what Bilbo was teaching him later on.

That was so cute! Reminds me of the baby bird we found in a hole in the wall when I was little. You never explained why Frodo was there though.

This story was very cute!! I loved Frodo's pronunciation (though I had to read his lines out loud to know what he was saying!!) and I also loved Bilbo's story about mouse pox. It sounds like something Bilbo would make up, and also a perfect example of a "silly story" to persuade a little kid to do something. And I really liked how Frodo learned that everyone has a part in the tale of Middle Earth. It reminds me a bit of the end of Return of the King: "Bilbo once told me his part in this tale would end, that each of us must come and go in the telling." And then, to Sam, "Your part in this story will go on." This was a creative way to portray that idea. All in all, a delightful read. :)

Author Reply: Thank you so much for the sweet review! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Frodo's 'toddler speak' (like real life toddler's) is a bit tough to understand, especially when you are new to reading him. Thank you again for reading and reviewing!

By the way, if you enjoyed this story, you might enjoy the main story this is a 'shoot off' from. It's called "The Early Adventures of Fwo and Unga Bee" and can be found on this site under my user name, cpsings4him. It is currently up to four chapters and each are episodic and about as fluffy as they come.

Blessings,
cp
