| Awwww! I love this history-of-their-friendship stuff. It's so beautiful. There really is something about green eyes, isn't there? Not that golden amber eyes aren't engrossing in their way, of course! (I won't even mention blue...) Author Reply: You'd better not! Or else I'll slip into dreaming and not surface for roughly three hours! Yes, I LOVE green eyes (and blue and brown and grey and amber and dark and light and etc. etc. etc.) and Pippin's have always enchanted me. (more so even than they do Merry!) | |

| This is very nicely done. I really like the description of the storm, and Pippin coming to climb in with Merry. And the way Pippin uses the same gesture to reassure Merry when they are captured. You put complete on this, but I think that it is nice enough that you could carry it on a little further. Author Reply: Yeah, that bit came to me at 5 AM, and stuck with me all throughout the night. I put complete? Hmm, I didn't mean to, and certainly intend to carry it further. Haven't even got to the actual point yet.... | |

| This is very vivid and descriptive. I love the way you show Merry's fears and worries, and the way time drags on for him. One thing you might want to fix. Eglantine was *not* a Brandybuck, she was a Banks. It was Merry's mother who was a Took, and sister to Pippin's father Paladin that made them cousins. Other than that it is an excellent start. Author Reply: Thank you, I knew that one of their mothers used to be from the others family, I just chose the wrong one. Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I'm guessing that time would drag for someone of that age..(it STILL drags like that for me..) | |
