Definitely movie-verse, but a lovely story.

love this~ very beautiful :*) i love the part about Sam waking up and just thinking about whether Frodo is ok. I love the reluctance of Sam and it's just a brilliant gap-filler movie-verse.

Very good job... i wish to read more of your ficlets. =)

This is very nicely done, as an explanation of a movie-verse moment. I love Sam's thinking that the Eagle had left Frodo behind, and his reluctance to actually go into the room where Frodo was.

There is one minor little nit, if you don't mind? You might want to change the "okay" in the last bit to "all right". "Okay" sounds both too modern and too American. Then your little vignette would be just about perfect.

Interesting POV study. Though I do have to point out one shadow -- the Fellowship is NOT reunited at last. There were Nine Walkers -- one will never know peace in the Fourth Age. *sob* Alas Boromir!

Anyway, I encourage you to keep going: movieverse Sam wouldn't have much trust in Men, how will he like hanging out in Minas Tirith? For that matter, he wasn't terribly fond of Captain Faramir. What does THAT meeting look like? Legolas wants trees and Gimli wants better stone, does Sam have any suggestions for King Aragorn?
Cheers,
Chibi-Kaz

Author Reply: Of course, not all of them are reunited. I could have never forgotten Boromir! :)

Oh, I'm so glad to see this bunny adopted!

"Mr. Frodo, he thought numbly. I mustn’t leave him there."

My goodness, that's so wonderfully 'Sam'.

"When was the last time he had slept somewhere that didn’t have any roots digging into his back, and sharp rocks gouging his ribs as he would roll over? How long ago did a pillow rest behind his head instead of his unshapely pack?"W

When indeed? I'll bet it was easy to get used to luxuries again, though.

"Frodo immediately turned his head to Sam and gave him a look that sent away all the pain lingering in his heart."

Awwww! What a sweet story.
