'There is no way of telling people that they are all walking around shining like the sun.'
~~Thomas Merton

This was was a good story, I really enjoyed it. Was interesting to see how each might have reacted to situations that we didn't see in the book. I especially liked Boromir's role in all of this -- I like it when people see him for more than just the man who tried to take the Ring. And Pippin -- the Flame Incorrigible. :-P That made me smile. Thanks so much for writing!

Author Reply: I'm so delighted with your reviews, PSW. "Avalanche" was a very special story for me, and I tried hard to imagine our beloved Fellowship working together in this unusual situation.

You know, I haven't read this one in a while either. ;) Glad I added this to my 'feeling awful and want h/c' reading list today. I *do* feel better.

Author Reply: Yay, I'm glad this gave you good feelings. I haven't read Avalanche in awhile, either! This was the first story I really tried to weave themes (such as 'light') all the way through to the end.

Oh. This was lovely. I love the interaction between all the members of the fellowship and the dialogue is fantastic- very in character and brilliant. Most enchanting.
This goes for all your stories; I love Lotr and was wary about reading fanfiction, but I'm glad I stumbled across your fics. They're very sweet and a delight to read.
Also, it's great to find some Frodo appreciation and I adore his friendship with Aragorn, the kinship between the hobbits and growing bond between the members of the Fellowship.
Nice writing!!

Author Reply: Thank you very much! I'm astonished to realize that I've been writing LOTR fanfiction for eight years now. I never tire of ways to explore the bonding between Fellowship members... especially Frodo and Aragorn. I'm so happy you found this story, and I hope you find others that you enjoy. :)

"...'My wrist isn't strong enough yet.'
"'You broke your left wrist, Mr. Frodo,' said Sam helpfully.
"'Thank you, Sam.'
"... 'Sword practice it is, then,' said Frodo. 'Of course, I'm not entirely sure where I left sting...'
"'It's under your bedroll, Mr. Frodo.'
Frodo sighed. 'Thank you, Sam.'"

I think I got it all right. LOL! Love it!! And lots of Frodo healing...my favourite. :-) I liked Pip too, of course...who can resist that one, I ask you? Now I've got to go find the other story. I can't recall the title just now, but you'll know which I mean when you get the review. Good work...as always! God bless,
Galadriel

P.S. I love how you balance the hurt with lots and lots of comfort. You know, I wonder if either one of us could just do the angst without something to counteract it. Don't think I want to try.

Author Reply: Thank you, QG! And 'comfort' must always balance out (or greatly surpass) the 'hurt' in my stories. Our hobbits (especially Frodo) deserve all the comfort and attentive care they can get.

Just the right balance between angst, action, and comedy - I especially love how the hobbits are all so ... jovial, and it seems to infect the other characters. You really have Pippin down wonderfully, and I love the bit about him following Gandalf in Moria at the end. Splendid job!

Author Reply: Thank you! I learned *so* much by writing this story; it grew and grew far beyond my original vision for it. I really appreciate your kind words.

Ayyyyyyyy well it's been a while but how did I miss this one? Wonderful...y'know I strongly suspect Pippin is your favorite...and there are times when he's mine too...........then again......

It's good to be back reading stories again, I've been busy with a couple of projects of my own (nothing to do with LotR unfortunately, but hey, maybe someday, once the other stuff is finished....) But I took a time-out and came back to Middle-Earth for a while...and once I get stuck here it's hard to get out again, y'know? Guess you could say it's my happy place, LOL

Just keep up the good work, OK? You have that magical knack of making the characters jump right off the page, so to speak.........now if Aragorn would just jump off it and stay put right here with me *wink wink*

Author Reply: Middle-earth is certainly *my* "happy place", as well! Frodo remains my favorite, but Pippin is a *very* close second. I enjoyed crafting a story around both of them -- thank you so much for letting me know that you enjoyed it.

Author Reply: Thanks, pip! Oh yes, we just have to find our magic, that's for sure.

Awwwwwww! This story was sooo sweet! I love the very end, when Pippin sees Merry lit up . . . wonderful, just wonderful. That part alone was one of the sweetest fanfic things I've ever read, and THAT'S saying a lot.

Author Reply: Thank you, Eruvyweth! I had a wonderful time writing "Avalanche", and I do have a weakness for sweetness!

Aww. I loved this ending. I knew that darned Brandybuck was at the bottom of a lot of Pippin's mischief--I just couldn't prove it! And the "Light Incorrigible"! So sweet...if Pippin looks at a person at just the right angle, it looks as if they're lit up. Nicely done!

Author Reply: Thanks for reading again! I do think the hobbits have a bit of magic about them, but it's very subtle.

This is such a great story! in this chapter, i loved the way aragorn goes silent after merry says there are more of pippin's songs he hasn't yet heard! i couldn't help laughing when pip says he can sometimes see people lit up at the end. welldone, shirebound!

Author Reply: Thanks, Elly! I couldn't help ending this story with a bit of humor (and a bit of sweetness). Hobbits just inspire me.
