Oh, goodness! Quite the most ridiculous (while still being well written) lotr story I have ever read!

This came up on Shirebound's LJ today as a recommendation. It was darling. I'm amazed that you were so clearly able to portray the drunk hobbits and have the story's style follow their drunkeness and yet still have the story be lucid. VERY clever!

Thanks for the warm smile on this dreary Tuesday.

It's been a while since I read this, and I'm so glad Shirebound put it in her "vaults of fluffdom" post today. What a delightful little tale this is. Drunken hobbits are so amusing. But poor Merry, good thing Beregond thinks quickly.

Poor dears--and Frodo and his sheets! Three sheets to the wind indeed! And poor Merry dripping wet from the well....

Oh dear. Poor Beregond and Gilwyn. It can't be easy to look after these.

I like how you kept them in character even though they are not really aware what they are doing: Sam is looking after Frodo, Pippin misses Merry, Frodo tries to keep an overview, and Merry... where is Merry?

I read all your stories around Beregond's trial, and I like the complete picture that they produce from their different points of view. But now it is the time for some light-hearted hobbit action.

You'll hear from me! Nienor

*guffaws* Oh my goodness, Lin! LOL! LOL! *gasp* Is it possible to die of a fit of laughter, I wonder? LOL! Oh, those poor Hobbits! They are all terribly drunk, especially poor, dear Sam. Water...torn sheets...Merry down a well, oh dear me! I think I'm more inclined to feel sorry for them than shake them. And I love Gilwyn! This had me laughing the whole time!
God bless,
Galadriel

Thanks for sending me the link to this story. Very, very funny. I love Sam's obsession with not being in boats, the solemnity with which Frodo tries to reckon up how many drinks he's had, and the circular conversation between the three hobbits. :)

What a great way to start a rainy Sunday morning. Three inebriated hobbits and one missing. I giggled all the way to the end.
Great sense of homor.
