Oooh, angst. Fun fun fun! :)

I look forward to the next chapter!

Author Reply: You like angst? Oh, Eruanna, we should get on just fine.

It was to be expected that they should follow him, Gimli thought, for Dwarves were natural leaders. He must remember his responsibility to the Company. Snort! That is so Gimli! Great line.

Despite his attachment to that flimsy bow and those ridiculously light knives... I am laughing again. Too funny.

Very good Gimli. Most people do not write him well but you have him right on in my opinion. His thoughts throughout this are great characterization of both himself and Legolas. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author Reply: I really enjoy writing Gimli, and I love playing him and Legolas off each other even more. My only regret in my newest story (which may or may not make it up here when it is complete) is that it doesn't give me as much opportunity to play with the Dwarf. Ah well. One can't have everything, I suppose.

I just love the Gimli-centricness of this. He is a character that so rarely seems to end up centre stage, and he is the more interesting for it. I enjoy his perspective on the flibberty-gibbet, lightminded elf. And for all his scorn for Legolas's reaction to the endless dark, I don't think Gimli is too happy either - Moria is not proving to be what he hoped for.

Author Reply: I do love Gimli - he's such a strong character that he almost writes himself, at least for me. And you are quite right when you say that Moria is not the haven he had expected. Poor Dwarf. Just wait till he gets to Lothlorien.
