Pipfan, I don't know what you mean by this not being one of your better stories! I thought it was fantastic! Just the right mix of humor and morals. Great family dynamics too. All in all a terrific read!

Author Reply: I was going to answer your lovely review yesterday, but my body suddenly crashed at around 9:00pm. I wanted to be a bit more coherent when I replied. :-)

Thank you for taking the time to read it! I don't think its a *bad* story at all, although it still needs a bit of tweakage here and there. I thought it was only a year ago that I posted this--how time flies! From the looks of the dates, it was *two* years ago. :-P

Again, thank *you* for reading and your encouragement--it goes a long way. :-)

“Papa, I feel...I don’t know--embarrassed, for what I did yesterday. I promise I won’t ever play the fool like that again.”

Now there's an interesting promise. Wonder how far that will go? LOL This was a great story. I always enjoy your Merry and Pippin adventures. There's nothing like a good scheme and my favorite hobbits in the hands of a very skilled writer to put me in a good mood. I'm in a very good mood now, PF! Thank you!

Author Reply: Cool! I'm happy to see you're in a good humor now. "...ever play the fool like that again." Yes, that was one promise our little Pip couldn't keep no matter how hard he tried! At least until he's more grown up... Thanks for reading!

A very nice story, and with a moral besides.

Pippin's questions about why some people are less fortunate than others reminded me so much of things my own daughter often asked. Some things are univeral.

I really like your writing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Author Reply: Thank you, Connie! I try to have the young hobbits learn some sort of lesson, but it doesn't always work out. Sometimes *I'm* the one learning! Thanks for reading Smoke!
