Beautiful descriptions!

The first blossoming of love is unmatched bliss. Eventually, however, you *must* come down from the clouds. I would think that the engaement was a time to dispel illusions and see the person as he / she truly is. True, Eowyn is not one to give up all her secrets.

Marvelous short story -- although I wonder at Faramir taking Eowyn to the ol hideout and not because of the smell. Everyone must have a place to retreat to, alone. Yes, especially dependable, reponsible Faramir. :)

Is the old word "borne" no longer in use -- to be bourne upon = to be carried ? see the first long paragraph for the typo (born).

*happy, happy sigh* This was lovely. I do so adore these two together. You have captured them marvelously. Thanks for giving us this gift of your words so beautifully put together.

This is exquisitely written. Words may not convey everything, it is true -- but thank you for crafting this gem of a story for us.

I always like the stories that praise story tellers. Who but we writers understands that?

I was interested in Faramir's observation that Gondor demanded extremes, or maybe forced people into extreme with us/against us positions. I wonder if that's often true in times of great stress. Maybe subtlety goes out the window when you're trying to survive. Although the Valar know that Denethor could be subtle.

I can see that Faramir would want to show Eowyn this place that had been so important in his life. In a way, if she loves him, she is loving what he became, what he lived in that place.
