Oh dear! Pervinca having an admirer who is a little too much for her! I must admit I find her plight amusing as well! It was good that she was able to comfort though and talk to Pearl, very sweet. I'm looking forward to more and finding out how and if Pervinca is able to escape Berry!

Author Reply: Admirers who are too much are the worst type (speaking from personal experience here, lol). Berry really is a sweet fellow, it's just too bad for him that Pervinca has her eye on someone else.

I'm trying to update this story, but I'm suffering from the worst case of writer's block! Will try to get another chapter out ASAP

This is not going too well for Pervinca at the moment. Looks like no one is having an easy time of it yet. Pip and Merry don't want to go at all and Pearl and Pervinca want to go with lads that they can't go with. Can't wati for more of this.

Author Reply: Lousy writer's block - I have been trying so hard to continue with this one, but just haven't had the inspiration *sigh*. I'll have to get my Pride and Prejudice DVD back from one of my friends, lol.

I don't like making anything easy for the characters (and I'm sure you don't like doing it either - I seem to recall Merry and Pippin getting into quite a few difficult situations in several of your stories :P), but it should all work out in the end (assuming I can start writing again, lol)

Thanks for the review

Oh please continue soon! I just love this! It's so very -- Jane Austen-y.

'Besides, she was quite content in being the only person present who had not been yelled at.'

Haha! Well, don't make Pervinca too cold towards Berilac, as in other fics I've read, I've become quite fond of him. But, if this is indeed as Jane Austen-y as I might think it is, I'm sure there will be many twists as to whom fancies whom, and whatnot. Please update soon ^_^. (I really like this!)

Author Reply: Thank you for your review (and sorry I've taken so long to reply - I'm usually very good about this sort of thing!). I'm glad it is coming across as Jane Austen-y, because Pride and Prejudice was one of my main inspirations.

Don't worry too much about Berilac - I'm rather fond of him too, and in one of my other stories, I've set him up with a lovely lass of his own :)

Wonderful! A story involving the whole Took family it would seem! I already feel sorry for Pearl! I'm looking forward to seeing how she progress' in her relationship with Orlando! looking forward to more, thank you!

Author Reply: Yes, I do love the Tooks (who couldn't). Currently, I'm still trying to work it so that Pippin gets a bigger part than he currently has, but the girls seem to want their share of the spot-light. I like Pearl, so don't worry about her too much. She has two wonderful sisters, some lovely friends, a sweet lad who loves her, and need we mention, a gorgeous little brother!

A lovely beginning. It's good to find a new story from you on here. I am looking forward to more. So far, I like Orland very much. He seems like a good match for Pearl.

Author Reply: I have been a little inactive lately. >.< Real-life has been a little crazy, plus I ended up with writer's block for some of my other stories, so that's why I decided to work on this one. Hopefully my constant dosage of "Pride and Prejudice" on Sunday nights will keep me working on this one! Glad you like Master Orlando. I try to avoid OCs where I can, but there was no way to write this one without him playing a large part.

I suppose you don't often get reviews for Author's Notes, but I just had to comment. "Orlando" is a perfectly good name for a hobbit--JRRT often used Frankish names for his hobbits, and "Orlando" is from "Roland" of the famous Frankish epic. I almost named my hobbit Rolly Banks "Orlando" and then chickened out because of worrying about people thinking it would be for Orlando Bloom. Also, I thought that he was probably not of a high enough status for that name. So I adapted Roland to Rollin. Good for you for having the courage to use it!
The other thing is your use of Jane Austen elements. I often think there is something Regency-like in Shire society. I had that in mind when I did the Ball for Reckoning. I find it very appropriate, and I think that JRRT might have been flattered, though I am afraid I don't know his opinion of Miss Austen's work.
I don't usually read WIPs, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

Author Reply: I've had a couple of reviews on Author's notes - mainly from Pippinfan, lol. Yes, I really have no shame when it comes to naming my hobbits - I have another OC named Vigo - another name which I ressurected from HoME. JRRT used Frankish names did he? Well, that's good to know. I have a bit of a time coming up with names for male OCs - and as such I usually have more female OCs.

Good to see I'm not the only one drawing upon Austen's work. I was actually reminded of your story when I saw the Balls. I had only recently started writing LotR fanfiction when I first read "Pride and Prejudice" (and watched the series), so my original Eglantine was somewhat based upon Mrs. Bennett, though slightly less silly!

I have a good idea of where this story is headed. The only trouble is finding the time to write.
