I know I'd read this-- It was a Marigold's Challenge story, after all, but when I came across it today looking for something else, it was like reading it the first time.

This is so beautiful and touching. I think my favorite part was when Pippin reminded Boromir that he did have something of his mother's: his brother.

And Pippin's confusion in talking ot his parents was very real. He'd convinced himself for so long that he'd been keeping his home safe, and to find out that it wasn't quite so had to be disorienting.

A lovely story that stands up to the test of time!

Oh, I love this! Very realistic, and I especially love the way you portray Paliden. I don't like it when he's portrayed so much as disbelieving or even cruel, and I've seen plenty of it. And I think maybe the reason you haven't gotten a lot of feedback on this yet is because it's too indescribable for words! The scene with Boromir was just precious, as was Pippin's worrying for his mother. Dear hobbit! :)
God bless,

Wonderful story - set up perfectly with Boromir and Pippin's conversation about the scarf. Pippin's adjustment to home again, and all the changes that had occured while he was gone was hard for him...all grown up in some ways, still the boy in many others. His father was very wise in his handling of the whole situation! Great!
